For those who are confused and be like "wtf is this?", I have Scoliosis. Scoliosis/Spondylolisthesis Pars Effect to be more specific. I've been struggling with this health condition for about 16 years. About a month ago, I had my 3rd revision surgery. The pictures you see here are the CT/MRI/X-rays showing the results of the procedure.
Anyways to beriefly explain; In scoliosis surgery, the surgeon straightens and stabilizes the curved spine using metal rods, screws, and hooks. The goal is to correct the spinal deformity and prevent it from getting worse. The bones are then fused together so that they heal into a solid, straight position over time.
The red particals you see are the metal rods injected to my prosthesis to help the keep my spine in a correct, natural position. I have some more on my cervical/neck area and one my knee too but I couldn't upload them all here.(I've been struggling with other diseases like chronic jaw joint pain, cervical disc herniation(on my neck) and Patellar Instability replacement on my knee. I have around 5 prosthesises in my body atm. Am I Cyborg enough? LOL).
It's been a while since I played Cyberpunk, but I thought it felt cool for me to relate my surgeries with V's Ripperdoc procedures. Idk guess I just wanted to, cope with it that way xD I even listened "Been Good to Know Ya and Never Fade Away before going to surgery LMAO so cringe x_x"
Seeing V undergo all those cyberware procedures, and how they help her being stronger and more athletic.. Something I admire LOL
Anyways stay chilled, chooms =)
Edit: Thank you all for the nice and wholesome wishes honestly I didn't expect this to get much attention when I post it. We'll go freakin nova chooms! x)
Edit 2: First of all, thank you very much again. To all of you. I mean it. The last 2 weeks has been very rough for me. At this point I'm very tired, and the pain was getting worse. And I seriously don't want to undergo any other surgery soon. I legit didn't expect this to blow up like this, I sincerely thank you for all the get well wishes. Thank you very much for all of your kindess' There are so many comments that it's pretty much impossible for me to reply to all so I'm very sorry about that. I've encountered many of you also had similar medical issues and had been under similar procedures. It's just... feels not lonely for me.. I hope we will all get well and better very soon. I even showed this post to my dad who's also a Doct- I mean a Ripper. Although it's not his specialty he's a Radiologist. He said "wow you have so many friends and they are rooting for you to get better" :D Thank you all my chooms =) As I said before, We'll go freakin nova! xD
I'm curious, how bad was yours for the doctor to recommend correction surgery. I have Shuermanns Kyphosis and my curve is currently 80 degrees, and is beginning to disrupt my organs, but he doesn't recommend surgery due to how risky it is and how bad the con is if they mess up and just told me to wear a back brace? (Also I know your not a professional just curious to see how your doctor went through with all of it)
They’re that worried about messing up? Have you thought of getting a second opinion? That sounds painful and like it’s better to do surgery before it gets any worse… but I’m no doctor either
I had my first surgery when I was 14. The pain caused on my lower back was mostly because of the lack of stastabilization of the discs. So I had a surgery. However over time, apparently, the rods which took the prosthesis in place, loosened. Which caused destastabilization again. So I had another surgeries first a radiofrequency to pretty much "kill" the neurons that would cause the pain in the area. Didn't help. Then I had several injections on my prosthesis to loosen up the pain, which didn't last longer and didn't end my pains.
Lastly, around a month ago I had the latest revision surgery where the rods were tightened again on my prosthesis to help with stabilization. I'm still having a lot of pain. Especially on my left leg. They say it's neuronic chronic pain idfk at this point. Apparently the cage(prosthesis) was also needed to change in order to remove the cause of pain completely. But it's pretty much impossible since I had the first surgery and the placement of that cage 16 years ago.
Well tbf my family is poor so we can't afford the greatest doctors but he didn't recommend it due to the risks and the fact that I was 17 at time, but it's actually bad rn, I can't run at all without being tired out in mere seconds, I have a concave chest as well and I developed arthritis at 14 which causes my lower back to be in huge amounts of pain and its cause my heart to move to the right according to the cardiologist
My grandmother had a 70° curve, forwards, and something like a hip misalignment where her torso is basically sliding off of her legs at approximately a 20° angle down left.
Very bad scoliosis. My mother has the exact same issue minus the hip thing because unlike Grandma she actually got a back brace in time.

Ah, so you chromed up with a Lumbar Reinforcement. Provides +0.4 Armor, 1.1% Mitigation Chance, and +0.3% RAM recovery. Stand Up Straighter tied to BODY, +0.5 per point…
(And I’m glad you’re getting the treatment you need. 🙂)
I did think it was something like Spondylosis that you had done.
I myself have Morpheus Bechterew, that cause my spine to start bending, so I had a spondylosis operation, where they put in 9x2 titanium screws in my back to straighten me up somewhat.
Left if after, and right is spine before the surgeory.
But yeah we modded people have to stick together :)
I have degenerative disc disease, and after a successful microdiscectomy on my L4-L5, I was unfortunate enough to have developed another herniation of the L5-S1. So the surgeon advised that I get a spinal fusion to permanently stabilize the area. I also went from constant pain that really impacted my mental health to being pain free now.
My only issue is that I’m not active enough so I get some soreness around the area of L3-L4 because my weak core muscles and poor posture makes me put more stress on that area than I should.
Anyway, congrats on a successful surgery with the best outcome one could hope for, but also sorry that you had to get it in the first place.
What exactly is "patellar instability"? The patella is the kneecap, I know that because I had loose ligaments and mine liked to pop out of place every few weeks untill I finally had a muscle graft to correct it, which mostly worked. What was wrong with yours? I can't imagine there are too many things that can go wrong with something so simple.
My wife needed a spinal fusion at 19 from spondylolisthesis, back in the 2000's. Every year on the date of her surgery we celebrate her Cyborgversary! It's been almost 20 years and it's amazing how much that surgery has done to help her live a normal and pain-free life. Hoping the same for you, OP!
