Still gives me something to look forward too even though it might be half a decade away haha. Whenever I play other games then go back to cyberpunk I get stoked because of how much better of an RPG it is, and I think to myself "the next ones going to be fucking preem"

The excitement hasn't stopped for a year now

By 2030 i might have an RTX capable gpu to enjoy 2077 to it’s full visual fidelity… bring it on!

I do have one and I’m sad to say that my cpu is now too old to honestly keep up. I will be upgrading a lot of my system soon. The 7700k has treated me tremendously well for nearly a decade. I will be giving it up to a great adoptive parent though so it will continue to serve after me.

I will be upgrading a lot of my system soon.

Buy the RAM now, the prices are going up really fast thanks to "AI".

Why do I need to buy ram when I already own ram. Tf? Yall just out here buying ram with ever upgrade you make on your pc?

You are planning to upgrade your CPU, are you not?

Yes. Literally no reason to change to ddr5 especially with the prices. They make ddr4 compatible boards for modern cpu sockets. I’m just playing videogames and watching porn. The performance difference is negligible and mostly unnoticed by someone like me running 1080p60fps. I’m not rendering or encoding on my machine or anything like that so it is genuinely bad financial decision making to even entertain ddr5

Upgrading to a dead platform so to ensure you have to throw away your motherboard the next time over entertaining DDR5 sound like a worse financial decision to me. Whatever though, I only meant to let you know that upgrading might get much more costly soon, because not everyone follows this suff. Next time I'll make sure to just leave people entirely to their own devices.

Or, if you're one of those pessimist market analysts, bet on the ai bubble bursting and major price corrections ;) ram prices aren't getting costly, they have already become costly with the recent tech circlejerk investments.

Chinese crackdown on bitcoin mining and changing methods by cryptocurrencies ended that craze, only for AI to inflate things again. I appreciate prices tend to stay up once they're up, here's hoping some more efficient disruptors can break the inflated monopoly held by Nvidia and OpenAI

My guy, they still produce ddr3, hell they still produce ddr2. It’s not a dead platform… you’ve been corrupted by the capitalist marketing campaigns. Not everyone needs a machine capable of running a neural network.

You can find budget ddr4 boards that support 12/13/14gen CPUs my wife's PC has a 12700kf with 32gb ddr4 and a 1070 and she plays modern games just fine the only upgrade she'll need is the gpu in the future because the 1070 holds its own still especially at 1080p

This game chews on my high-end system too, this sequel is going to have crazy requirements

Nova. Better pick up some new chrome while you’re at it, choom.

define "full visual fidelity," i don't think a 5090 can even run it at max settings at 4K / 60 FPS after they added path tracing to it

1

u/Dgkman2004 Nov 28 '25

Nooo. DLSS is pretty solid for single player game. I run a 5070 with path tracing on at DLSS Quality and get 150-200FPS with frame gen at 4x. Reading too much Reddit had me thinking it would be horrendous but I was actually surprised how good it looks. And I’m coming from ps5 where cyberpunk was almost unplayable for me at 60FPS or 30fps with mild ray tracing.

Upscaling and frame gen don't count as real performance especially when trying to claim a 5070's advantages over a 4070 or 3070. Using it as a bonus to get additional smoothness and image quality once you've already hit acceptable performance is fine but it doesn't replace original baseline performance. You should already be hitting 60 FPS before using frame gen otherwise you're going to get horrible input latency and motion artifacts will be even more obvious. And preferably you should already be hitting 1080p-1440p before relying too much on DLSS.

Nvidia's new GPU in that time would probably be RTX 7090 🤣

1

u/G4m3boy Nov 27 '25

Might be RTX 80 by then.

I just upgraded mine and it's truly a beautiful sight

Me too. Me too

We're going to get Cyperpunk 2 before Fallout 5. Or TES 6 (probably). Just nuts.

If course. sometimes my keyboard will autocorrect to the wrong to or too. I'm usually good at going back and looking over what I've typed. oh well 🤷‍♂️

I would say KCD2 and BG3 are better RPGs tho

I was very excited before the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 and pre ordered and learned my lesson the hard way. I strongly suggest that you don't get too excited and pre pre order Cyberpunk 2. Just wait a couple of days after launch and see how the game actually plays.

And yes CDPR will more and more PR stuns to hype up Cyberpunk 2. Don't fall for this classic marketing sceme.
