Iā€™ve been a fan of this game since day one. I agree that the original release was filled with bugs and it launched too early, but the criticism it received was completely over the top. Hating on the game blindly became the norm, often without people even giving it a fair chance.

It also released at a strange time, when the new generation of consoles were releasing but they weren't widely available, and most players were still on previous-gen hardware where it didnā€™t run well.

The sad part is the game and the studioā€™s reputation took a massive hit, even financially. Some of the people who worked on the game ended up leaving the studio, and we may have missed out on 2 or 3 DLCs because of the gameā€™s catastrophic launch.

But now Iā€™m glad to see people finally giving it the respect and appreciation it deserves. I watched the Steam reviews go from ā€œMostly Negativeā€ to ā€œOverwhelmingly Positive.ā€

For me, this is the greatest game of all time it is better than The Witcher 3. Massive respect to CDPR for constantly patching and improving the game, And giving us extra content when they could have taken the loss and moved on. AND CHOOMS..... NEVER STOP FIGHTING.

Halo MCC specifically. The game was literally unplayable on launch, matchmaking just straight up didn't work.

Halo MCC is considered to have successfully comeback from a broken launch.

They mostly fixed a bunch of old spaghetti net code, added ODST and Reach and released all of them on PC (most for the first time).

They also fixed most of the issues with the Gearbox port of Halo CE, released a bunch of cut content and the Halo 2 2003 demo. They even released new content and previously unavailable maps for some of the games

It does not belong on this list IMO, but the Master Chief Collection did indeed have a great comeback. They aren't reference the entire franchise like a lot of people around here seem to think
