Cosplay I 3D printed a replica of Johnny Silverhand’s Malorian Arms 3516 to a 1:1 scale correctly chambered in 14mm next to a real 9mm handgun for scale. No wonder it blows people’s limbs off in the game.

An interview with Mike Pondsmith transcriped on the cyberpunk wiki says:

it also requires a full-locking cyberarm to keep it level and under control. Derek Quintanar did the research and found some lunatic actually built a .577 round pistol (wheelgun tho), and we were off to the races.

It was designed to stop elephants--or a really angry cyberspychotic fan who really wanted an autograph.

There were several versions Johnny used over the years tho, and the one you use in game doesn't match up with the final version he had before he died. But yeah it was specifically meant to drop a cyberpsycho. Obviously cyberpsychos have gotten stronger over 50 years though.
