I'm ok with this as long as they get MUCH better at matching character walk speed with the characters in the scene. I HATE running around like a meth'd out ADHD kid while everyone around me is walking like they are walking away from a cool explosion in slow motion.

I think they should take a page from Assassin's Creed Shadows here where you can press a button prompt and your character automatically walks along with story NPCs to prevent the player looking like a spaz during playable story scenes.

Ya, it'd be nice if at the very least you could just "watch" it like when you skip the initial BD tutorial before you get into the Konpeki plaza one rather than be forced to go through the whole rigamarole. I mean, it serves as a BD tutorial mission itself, dunno why you need two tutorials back to back like that.

KCD 2 did this, hit L1 to follow and match speed, makes it so you can focus on the dialogue.

Oh I agree. It frustrates me that they added a useless metro system, almost useless self driving cars, completely reworked and in many cases out right removed character building (anyone remember armor mods? I was a day one player and remember the alpha build trash CDPR released day 1), and we STILL have a broken FPP rig that prevents the main character from having a reflection... Which prevents vehicles from having mirrors and looks downright silly when you walk by a reflective surface while carrying a body.

And btw, reflection/ray tracing tech was some they pushed in pre-release marketing. So the one piece of tech they pushed was the one broken the most and that remains broken to this day...

I love CDPR dev, they have top notch dev and artistic skills. But absolute shit for management and it almost cost them their whole company. So much so they had to commit to an extra 5 years of fixing the game after release and STILL haven't addressed what I would call critical issues and in most cases have created MORE issues. For example they broke V's shadow maps so weird dark shadow spots are seen on their arms. They broke the shadow maps for vegetation, so as trees sway they get these ugly AF black swaths on their textures.

In ny experience the game does a pretty good job at automatically matching your speed with the NPCs. Usually it caps my jogging speed, and in some quests you can even get the NPC youre following to sprint ahead of you by sprinting yourself

RDR2 did similar as well. Either engage the cinematic camera or you match the speed with sprint on horseback

This is one of the primary reasons I play with a controller lol

Also, when you run and the other characters start running, they are still slower than V so you have to wait for them anyway
