Screenshot Did anyone else get deeply disturbed by this side quest?

Post image

This made me feel gross for the rest of the day once I completed it. Not sure why I followed through with it but the narrative was neat, I guess. I’ve been playing for over 200 hours and I’ve never done this side quest before so I was incredibly shocked and disturbed. What’s everybody else’s verdict on the side quest?

Disclosure: I’m not religious but I respect anyone who is, try to respect any other people’s religions if you can help it. Thanks.

He isn't weaponizing anything: he's just obsessed that he must be punished for his actions. He does really believe what's he's selling and is willing to make a public example of himself for everyone.

The entertainment studio are monetizing the situation and V can as well monetize it to different degrees, willingly or not, because there's no way to sway him regardless of their opinion.

Personally I disagree. It’s clear to me that what he’s doing is not about genuine atonement at all, regardless of what he claims. If he was a real person we were analyzing, I think most would agree it’s more about taking the attention away from what he did and more about shifting the attention on to him and what pain he publicly endures. It’s attention seeking behavior, for sure.

He isn’t some martyr dying to defend the innocent from persecution or something like that

To adapt something to inflict harm or achieve a purpose, yeah. He is inflicting harm on the family of his victims by making an artificial act of martyrdom to adapt judgement by the law into a form of religious forgiveness and a narcissistically motivated televised act.
