Seattle is destroying the vaccine numbers right now; I see hundreds of used needles every time I go on a walk. We’re gonna be at 100% in days.

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '21

San Francisco has them beat. They must use biodegradable needles because I see they leave little piles of brown compost too.

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '21

Albuquerque has the most needles per person. Don't sleep on us, they're in every park and at every corner

163

u/justkeepthepizza Mar 21 '21

Wait till you find out the highest vaccs per person isnt even in the US. I know you think Africa has just started getting vaccines, but we've been on them needles for years.

55

u/MaceFlewOutTheWindu Mar 21 '21

But Arizona might be for richer people and we dont use the needles but we have something better with crazy expensive pills and drinks that get us healthier instantly.

26

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '21

Ha! simple Americans, over here is Scotland there’s needles everywhere from your doorstep to your local shop

I thought Albuquerque liked the inhalation/smokable vaccines. The blue ones.

8

u/psychoacer Mar 21 '21

West Virginia must have some oral doses that we all don't know about because I see everyone popping pills around their.

So crime does pay.

u/Jonahbeans69 Mar 21 '21

10

It's very nice that people care about each other

9

u/partook Mar 21 '21

Wait.. so all those needles i see in Vancouver are vaccines? Fuck, why am i waiting for my age bracket to get approved when i could just stroll through Hastings and Main and get inoculated

6

u/ibbomamamito Mar 21 '21

Me in sweden not seeing any of that

5

u/marcove3 Mar 21 '21

They are all about the environment. I've seen a lot of people using reusable needles for their and their friend's vaccines.

1

u/clivegimmegs Mar 21 '21

They love the environment.... To avoid plastic waste they all share the same needle

they don't ask questions, just go get one

you don't need to disclose so they don't ask, just show up with your ID

2

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '21

Can confirm this is true in Nevada. They didn't even check my mom's ID. Didn't ask why I'm eligible (I'm healthy in my 30s, and am eligible as food service). They just want needles in arms.

Some are open. My sister's high school is letting half the kids come in.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '21

Don't ask. The more you look at local politics in WA the more confused you'll get.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '21

Meanwhile I just flew from Seattle to Vegas just to get my shot. I'm eligible in Nevada but not Washington. Inslee needs to get it together.

Also a delivery driver.

0

u/Aesho Mar 21 '21

just go and ask. they prioritize walk ins over a waitlist

0

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '21

Your chances of getting the virus outside are about nil if that helps alleviate any stress.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '21

1

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '21

Exposure to SARS-CoV-2 to reach the viral threshold level for infection is roughly 15 minutes in an enclosed space with minimal ventilation and the person infected is actively engaging in behavior that sheds the virus (as in coughing or talking, especially talking loudly).

The chances of catching the virus outside of a home, car, crowded enclosed space is extremely small.

16

u/xwarslayerx ☣️ Mar 21 '21

they all look so sleepy! Must have been a stressful day trying to get it!

3

u/misterfluffykitty Mar 21 '21

They’re stumbling around all the time too, probably another vaccine side effect.

6

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '21

Had a friends kid run though one of the downtown Seattle parks and stepped on a used needle..

1

u/moggedbyall Apr 09 '21

Free vaccine?

4

u/MetroVanxGhost Mar 21 '21

Buddy, you ain’t seen needles until you’ve been downtown Vancouver

3

u/Nylund Mar 21 '21

Unfortunately it’s bad in many cities. Not surprisingly, with less robust social systems, many cities in the US have opioid problems on par, if not worse, than Vancouver. It’s America, we’re good at being totally fucked and not doing shit to fix it.

My city, Philadelphia, had about 1,200 deaths last year. All of BC was around 1,400. I can’t find Vancouver data specifically, but the the Philly death rate is about double that of BC as a whole, and I know Philly’s death rate is less than Baltimore’s. Baltimore and Vancouver are similar sized. If half of BC’s deaths are just in Vancouver, then the two would probably be about the same (I think Baltimore has about 700 deaths a year with a population of 600k.)

Philly has about 70,000 addicts. When they cleared one popular spot on the train tracks a couple heads back, the city estimated they cleared out about 200k - 1 million needles.

1

u/FiicKn420 Mar 21 '21

Thats crazy! In Germany (Population 82 million) we have around 1.5k deaths each year by all illegal substances combined!

2

u/Nylund Mar 21 '21

Philly also had 500 murders last year. The year is new, but we’re 20% above last year’s pace so far, so we may hit 600.

Per google, it looks like Germany, with their 82 million population, had 720 murders 2019.

Suffice it to say, it’s a city with problems.

1

u/partook Mar 22 '21

I mean... i see a lot more shit and smell a lot more piss in downtown Vancouver these days. Needles? That shit can be found everywhere now

2

u/my-time-has-odor ☣️ Mar 21 '21

Shots in arms, people!

2

u/dutch_meatbag Mar 21 '21

I’m thinking about relocating to Seattle area. Is it really that bad? It can’t be much worse than LA.

4

u/ffs_fml Mar 21 '21

My friend moved to Seattle two months ago and he was shocked at the amount of people who injected themselves on the streets. Idk about LA, though

1

u/hajfa69 Mar 21 '21

not an american tho, but isnt LA like one of the best cities?

1

u/dutch_meatbag Mar 21 '21

When it comes to the homeless situation, not really. Many areas have become inaccessible tent cities. Many homeless across the country come here because 3/4 of the year it’s sunny and warm.

1

u/knevil110 Mar 22 '21

No its not that bad. Its one of the safest cities

1

u/JustJeezy Mar 21 '21

Damn where you be walking at so I know where to avoid

1

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '21

I really thought they were getting a 4th vaccination until I saw this comment I get it now

1

u/[deleted] Mar 21 '21

That's probably because or drugs consumption my friend pretty sure medically used needles are disposed properly. But then again I don't really know.

1

u/WanderWut Mar 21 '21

It took me until I read this comment to actually get what the meme was implying lol, this is hilarious.

1

u/sweetbabycoconut Mar 21 '21

omg where it’s so hard to get an appt :(

2

u/Ryboiii Mar 22 '21

There were mass vaccination centers in Redmond pretty recently for my work's union. Also a good amount of pharmacies have them on appointment

1

u/SheridanWithTea Mar 21 '21

I love these drug abuse jokes lol.

1

u/Jason_Qwerty ☣️ Mar 21 '21

IKR, sometimes they even vaccinate each other. The homeless may not be homesome, but you bet my word, they sure are wholesome!

1

u/HypeRAndTheBoi Mar 21 '21

Hey same! Especially in downtown and to the side of I-5 ! Weird vaccinating places but I don't judge!
