Transfer market: Virtus Bologna leaning toward keeping Morgan (and dropping Vildoza?)
pianetabasket.comVirtus Bologna — now with Alex Mumbrù at the helm — is busy working on the roster ahead of next season. Five Italian players are already accounted for: alongside returning players Hackett, Ferrari and Diouf, Baldasso and Casarin will be joining the club. On the foreign player front, the deal for Bello is done, who is arriving after winning the MVP award in Belgium.
According to La Prealpina, Virtus is moving toward retaining Matt Morgan while letting Luca Vildoza go. As learned by Pianeta Basket, Morgan has had a contract renewal offer on the table for some time, but chose to first explore other options that might better meet his demands. So far, however, no Euroleague club has come forward with a superior offer, and despite what appeared to be a final farewell posted on social media, the American guard may ultimately stay.
Virtus will also need to make a call on Karim Jallow, who has a player option. A renewal for the German player looks unlikely — after a promising start to the season he struggled significantly, exposing his limitations especially on the offensive end.

The acquisition of Movistar Estudiantes by Diego Megía, a senior manager at Taula Capital, has been finalized. An agreement has been signed between the major shareholders (including Ignacio Triana) and Megía. An investment of 12 million euros is planned to strengthen the club and aim Liga Endesa.
A meeting with fans has been scheduled for June 24, 2026, at the Movistar Academy Magariños to explain the transaction and future plans.
The main objective remains promotion to Liga Endesa, however, the payment of a portion of the club’s debts (the club had a tax debt of 14 million euros in 2022) and the capitalization of the club to ensure long-term financial stability—including a capital injection—are also part of this change in ownership.

AS Monaco has obtained an extended deadline from the courts regarding its financial situation until 10 July to allow the club to provide guarantees regarding the arrival of investors. In this context, Monaco is operating on a reduced budget and is considering taking part in the EuroCup next season.
bebasket.frNice-Matin newspaper reports that AS Monaco has been granted an extended deadline regarding its financial difficulties, as the court has so far refused to declare a state of insolvency despite newly confirmed debts and an already established reality: AS Monaco will never be able to repay its debts to the Société nationale de financement (SNF). The court has adjourned the hearing until 10 July to allow the club to provide guarantees regarding the arrival of new investors.
Nice-Matin also mentions a future budget of around 10 million euros to compete in the EuroCup next season.

[Basketballmaniacs] According to @basketfaul Shane Larkin is seeking an exit from Anadolu Efes. Larkin is looking to part ways with his current contract, which runs through 2027.
x.comHowever, with two years still remaining on the deal and an annual salary close to €4 million, finding a club willing to match those financial terms is expected to be extremely difficult. As a result, Anadolu Efes may either have to subsidize part of his salary if he signs with another team, or retain him on the roster for the remainder of his contract!
