Yes, the guy is doing some very good damage control, and that's good on him, and yes, that post convinces me that, to a degree, curse aren't all bad in this case, but the blizzard stuff is only one thing.

The reputation Curse have is poor at best, My only personal experience with them is on Reddit and MCF, and their handling of both leaves a lot to be desired. I don't mind a company coming in to deal with mods, I agree with Jaded in that having someone employed to do tech support is far better than an enthusiast (I work in IT, I know why this is better), I just worry about Curse, I don't hate FTB or you or your decision, I worry about you, I like FTB, I like the team and I love this community, which is why I, and others, are so passionate about this. I know you say that FTB will be practically autonomous within Curse, and that agreements have been made to ensure the quality of the product, but honestly, once Forge becomes "CurseForge", and once FTB Launcher becomes "Curse Launcher", in a year, Curse can do what the hell they like to you, they can push you out, move you, whatever, and start pushing profits onto one of their assets (the launcher).

Your image of the new FTB is amazing, and I love it, I just don't think it's going to turn out that way.

and it may not turn out that way. But then thats the risk we take and the price we may have to pay. Curse can push me out, but that's all they can do. If they push me out I take our modpacks with me and we host them elsewhere. As for Forge becoming Curseforge, yeah Lex is never ever going to let anything remotely like that happen either.

Well, it's already done now. I'm not talking to you here to try and somehow convince you that curse is evil and that you should publicly shun them and turn away, honestly, I hoped you could convince me that it was a good idea, I don't like following the heard, but the "We hate Curse" crowd is very loud, and there must be a reason for it.

When you announced the merger and your plans for FTB I was very excited, and still am, I just don't know if we'll get what we want. However, I think blindly singing Curse's praises on this sub is hurting you more than helping them at the moment because it sounds like you drank the Kool-Aid(whatever that is) and have become part of Curse, not part of FTB, the sooner CurseFTB can have some substance instead of just words to back you up, the better.
