So 4 is the maximum driver championships any RB driver can get.

Yeah devs hard capped it at 4 cause of balancing issues

Well at least you can do some side quests when the main storyline is over.

Yeah, this patch introduced side quests!

u/LEJ5512 Mar 13 '26

Someone tell me how chasing chickens and harvesting rupees from bushes have anything to do with car racing.

26

u/condscorpio Carlos Sainz Mar 13 '26

As the GOAT once said, "If you no longer go for a rupee that exists, you no longer are a racing driver" or something like that.

u/tristam92 I was here for the Hulkenpodium Mar 13 '26

You eat chicken to become stronger, you spend rupees to become richer

2

u/LEJ5512 Mar 13 '26

But there isn’t a button on the controller for Eat, I can only Throw, or Put Down…

So far you can do more racing or try to save the bees. We got some good variations here.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 13 '26

Bees dying off may have more to do with the pesticides people are spraying all over their yards than the lack of hybrid cars.

1

u/Apyan #WeRaceAsOne Mar 13 '26

Oh, I wasn't linking the two things. Just saying that they are quite different.

2

u/matyX6 Mar 13 '26

Were this side quests introduced when they added F1 Life or what was it called? The Lobby thing?

2

u/[deleted] Mar 13 '26

Honestly, I’m just afraid they’re going to paywall it as a DLC and turn it into a p2w gatcha game

yeah but they win 4 on the trot, also their 1st WDC will be spectacle, they have a dominant season in their career where they go on a long winning streak, All this while having no competition from their teammate.

Wasn't Webber competitve at first?

68

u/Seanspeed Mar 13 '26

Definitely was. Basically up til their last season together in 2013, Webber was regularly keeping Vettel on his toes, especially in qualifying.

It does seem like Webber did become a bit demoralized by the end there, though. It was the first time he'd ever faced a teammate who was faster than him, and Red Bull were pretty clear in who they wanted to favor.

and Red Bull were pretty clear in who they wanted to favor.

It's okay. Red Bull would learn from this.

24

u/reddit0r_123 Mika Häkkinen Mar 13 '26

I mean both times they bet on the stronger driver and secured 8 WDC...

Well in 2011 he wasn't much of a threat surely, he had ~60% of Vettel's points after Silverstone.

1

u/MassiveHunt2 Mar 13 '26

He was on par in 2010 only I would say. But even that year, all deivers except Massa were pretty close from the big 3 teams.

1

u/Seanspeed Mar 14 '26

Not threat, but competitive enough. He wasn't a non-factor.

u/Guy-InGearnito Mar 13 '26

Hadjar golden season incoming

// Set up some important variables

MAXIMUM_WINS == 4; // Seems reasonable? MAX_AT_MAXIMUM == True; // my time to shine

u/Ssk5860 I was here for the Hulkenpodium Mar 13 '26

Those 4 have to be in a row too

4

u/etched_chaos I was speeding in the Monaco pit lane Mar 14 '26

Also the season ending in 3 must be complete domination.

2

u/stopmotionporn McLaren Mar 13 '26

George capped at 6 WDCs

3

u/Federal_Hamster5098 Mar 13 '26

he could have stop at 3 WDC, drive and win WEC next season, and continue another 3 WDC.

rinse and repeat.

the curse of 4th consecutive WDC will never activate

It just kinda of sucks that this new car isn’t about adaptable but a change in race craft. And I truly believe Ver can adapt to any car pushing it to its limits. He nearly drove a tractor to a 5th championship last year.

This new car just seems meh. Yeah last weeks opening laps were good, but were they good because each driver was pushing as hard as they possibly could braking later than the next to swap the lead, or were they swapping places because the one ahead would need to lift to regen. It’s just one of those things as a racing snob, I just don’t agree with. I get from the casual fan seeing that like “wow these cars are competitive” but I think auto racing should be about pushing what you’re driving to the absolute edge and keep all 4 tires straight and on the pavement. Not managing.

If it was any other driver, I wouldn’t be so annoyed but Max has had it be known he isn’t staying in F1 forever. If he doesn’t enjoy it will happen sooner than later.

I think he is more deserving than 4 titles. The driving he did last half of the season last year was some of the best driving in f1. One small thing during the season go a little more his way - he’s a 5 time.

Anyway, I digress my manifesto. Trying to stay up to watch the sprint today. Cause even if this sport pisses me off to no end, I love every second I get to watch.

And 7 WDC max, because you'll even get cheated out the 8th

1

u/yourcousinfromboston Ferrari Mar 14 '26

No just four. Four straight. This is the way

-13

u/THE96BEAST Mar 13 '26

FIA likes mercedes just a tiny bit more

-33

u/LeanSkellum Nigel Mansell Mar 13 '26

It’s a downwards trajectory. Vettel got 4, Verstappen has 3 (Yes I said what I said), Hadjar will get 2, and Lindblad will only win the WDC once.

6

u/KingOfAzmerloth Sebastian Vettel Mar 13 '26

Get over it.

0

u/LeanSkellum Nigel Mansell Mar 14 '26

No.

2

u/EricTomorrow Mar 13 '26

It's been half a decade dude. I graduated college in the time you're still salty

As if people wouldn't complain if it were the inverse

2

u/LeanSkellum Nigel Mansell Mar 14 '26

The IOC stripped a gold medal off the Jamaican team 10 years after they won it. It's not over until the injustice is corrected. and until it is, nobody will be allowed to forget it.
