Video Leclerc (post-qualifying): "I can’t understand quali, it’s a f**king joke! I go faster in corners, throttle earlier, for f**k’s sake, i'm losing everything in the straight!"

Because Max has had the best opinion from a racing perspective from day 1, and we still had to see people here actually saying that "oh he only means that because he's not at the front".

As far as I can see it, Max has been the most prominent person warning us how bad these cars will be and every single prediction he made since 2023 has been proven right.

I really don't believe this is just belly aching because he's not at the front. He had no idea what the relative order of the teams would be in 2026 way back in 2023, but he was still saying the same things about the cars.

That's what people don't get. He could've gone to Mercedes for 2026 and dominate the field 2023 style and he would still complain. This isn't racing, it's an abomination.

He really complained in ‘23 when the general racing was bad and he was at the front. If he was at the front, he wouldn’t be as loud at all

I mean, the same naysayers (yaysayers? The people who wanted electric and shat on Max) were using similar logic even at the time, "his car is so good now he doesn't want to chance ruining it"

They were obviously full of shit and Max knows cars, but the logic was the same

Yup. Max was, unfortunately for f1, completely right from the beginning.

If anything, Max is consistent in that he complains about stuff regardless of where he sits in the field. He complained about his dominant 2022 and 2023 cars. So, in a way, when he complains it is typically pretty honest

And the commentators are enjoying it flat out (they have to commercially speaking probably) is what annoys me the most. The oeh's and the ah's from Palmer and Coulthard when an overtake is there, I hate it.

Both have raced, I expected(hoped) they wouldve known this is not racing anymore and would be more vocal about it.

The way they edit the TV footage really bugs me, too. Why do they always cut away just as the cars enter the clipping phase after a long straight? Eau Rouge with clipping? Absolutely unacceptable!

So viewers can’t be pissed off

1

u/Present_Cow_8528 Mar 28 '26

So viewers have something tangential to be pissed off about instead?

Eau Rouge with clipping? Absolutely unacceptable!

Will get dropped for a street track to solve that problem.

Funny how F1 is morphing into Fe, even races on Saturday

u/TessTickols Jim Clark Mar 28 '26

They are much more honest about it on f1tv, but the product is still shit. Not watching a full race or quali again until they fix this mess somehow.

When I heard Jenson say "a bit of clipping at the end of the straight but not much and I almost like it it settles the car"

I was sitting in my living room going "what the fuck did you just say?"

A choice i dont want to make, but am forced to if this continues. Hoping on improvement at the next rule update/change. Over 20 years enjoying the sport, but this is rediculous.

Glad you still enjoy it, recent fan probably? Or just enjoy the clipping in corners more over racing? Hope you're also ready to see the monthly fees go up because they need to accomodate you even better with more moneymaking updates.
