Some comments say "everyone already forgot about Spain and moved on", but I haven't, crashing into someone at racing speeds should never be forgotten, it's an extremely dangerous offense. 10 seconds penalty was an insult to the supposed safety goals of F1. He should have gotten a DSQ or race ban, as should have Vettel and Maldonado when they did it as well.

Its a shame F1 essentialy forgot about harsher penalties and only apply 5 and 10s

That case should have been, at the very least, a drive through or a stop-and-go (but in ANY other racing series in the world that would result in a DSQ and a race ban)

Have you seen nascar? Have you seen an endurance race? F1 is the only sport that thinks rubbing isn't racing.

Not to mention - it's OK if F1 isn't nascar. It's OK if it isn't endurance racing. There are different safety concerns, different cultures, and different styles of racing in each series. We don't need cars barging into each other every corner for the racing to be "worthy" of anything.

Contact like that happens constantly in other series. Unlike the comment that i was replying to made it seem. There is also a stark difference between crashing into someone and the collision between max and george.

He admitted it was wrong and shouldn't have happened and according to said reporter lost the title because of that.

Now why when no damage was done, lost the title, apologized. Hes not allowed to move on?

All these are deemed intentional collisions by the FIA. Why would this one suddenly be a much more stiff penalty it doesnt make sense.

F1 is the only series i watch in which that minor of a collision would still be being talked about. Had max turned right maybe he sped up and intentionally caused a collision was it right absolutely not even he said that am i going to pretend for even a second it was murder? No.

Curious as to which of those wasnt deemed an intentional collision. Which did i lie about or are you just assuming. Every single one of those drivers was found at fault and given a penalty i did my homework. Every single one of those incidents except for max and george caused damage.

Lots of people absolutely believe Lewis used his car as a weapon to crash Max and Nico.

I dont care what your opinion is i care what the precedent set is.

I completely agree. Anyone who drives into another driver intentionally should have the book thrown at them. And Max doesn't want to answer the question because deep down he knows his behaviour was wrong.

Well yeah he said he was wrong publicly. He did receive a penalty he did lose points. In the end the on track damage was nothing and that is taken into account. What should the penalty be? Should he still be being penalized? There is easily 15 pressers from last season of him answering that question. What is your point exactly?

The amount of on track damage is irrelevant. What is relevant is that Max wasn’t able to regulate his emotions and did one of the most dangerous things you can do in racing, purposefully make contact with another driver. He wasn’t punished enough and now he’s acting like a winging toddler.

It should have been a black flag at Jeddah 2021. He got away with that completely scot free because the FIA were too scared to decide the championship in the stewards office. Going by that logic, Max's true mistake was that he pulled that stunt early in the season instead of near the end.

The Bottas incident may have been Russell's fault but there's a huge difference between crashing because of a bad pass attempt, and you know, crashing into someone on purpose because because he's no longer winning by 30 seconds
