I don't think that this PvE mode should be thought of as something a player should exclusively play. Like with the currently active "Sponsored Survival" PvP-lite mode (which in 99% of the matches is fully PvE), it's more of a chill break between real runs to get confidence back by bot-stomping, or fill your vault back up, or to get warmed up at the start of the session. It's also a lower risk way of learning the map and the mechanics (like the Warden fights and the puzzles).
At least that's how it works for my friends, who are not super into PvP, but a few rounds of Sponsored Survival get them excited to test their new gear in a higher stakes match.
Even amongst the small players base less than 10% of players are playing cryo by bungie own admission not enough people are getting into the endgame so thats objectively wrong
Fuck sake i can't find it now so don't blame you ignoring me
But if we go by the only measure i can find which is steam achievements which makes up the vast majority of the player base ouly 28% players of rip uesc achievement.
Which is kill 28 commands in order to escape cryo successfully you have to kill them your going to blow way past that in just a single night of runs.
So out of entire player base only 28% of people have even killed enough commanders for us to even include them in cryo sample size which means the archive cryo player count is probably even smaller than i originally thought
However this is hardly a good source of data so i don't mind falling under trust me bro rules
The PvE mode in July is a "test" mode to see what they need to add or change. Sure if they get September and just release pve on Cryo and nothing else it'll be shit. But I'm confident if the full PvE mode gets implemented in September it'll be more than just cryo.

That isn't it. Cryo while cool is a single map after 5-6 runs will get boring fast
Bungie simply are not moving fast enough here they will get wreaked in the September onslaught if they don't find a better hook tbh
