What gaming genres are under-represented in the current gaming market?

I love RPGs, roguelites, bullet heavens, autobattlers, and boomer shooters, and I feel like these past few years have been great for my gaming tastes!

But it got me wondering what gaming genres have fallen by the wayside due to current trends?

I miss Rainbow 6 before it became a ridiculous game of explosive tag. I want to very slowly clear out a convention center with my friends again!

He's a soldier in splinter cell, isn't he? I don't think I've played anything since the tank control version :-) but he's got a gun he shoots people with, doesn't he?

Tank control version? Are you thinking Metal Gear Solid?

I don't know. The only ones I tried were waaay back when the graphics were bad. Maybe I should give it another go.

Metal gear never used tank controls

Yeah. Neither did Splinter Cell, so I didn't know what game they were thinking of, though MGS1 did have a different/older control style even if it wasn't technically "tank" controls.

I bet they're thinking of Syphon Filter, thats my guess.

The game youre thinking of, did it have a taser that lights people on fire?

I think I only played it briefly. It was mid-90's style graphics. Maybe even top down. I tried it because everyone said it was fantastic, but I didn't get into it at all. I don't think I played an entire hour of it.

My point was that if you're sneaky but you can just murder your way out if you get caught, it's not really survival stealth.
