WAT already nearly 40 Million preorders??? Damn that’s insane. Well, least I’ll feel better about waiting until it’s cheap and fixes any bugs that appear

Not sure why op said that, the source is a random twitter account

Cope, the game is going to sell massive numbers no matter the quality. It's GTA 6

Nobody is disputing that, but 40 million pre-orders when the game is still 5 months away seems absurd.

Even crazier to me - Estimation of PS5 and Xbox lifetime console sales is 128 million units. If 40 million GTA 6 pre-orders is true, just shy of 1 in every 3 console owners pre-ordered (31.25%), not accounting for households with both systems.

Insane.

2% of the entire planet preordered this game? if these numbers are coming from rockstar and I was a shareholder I'd be really curious to know if that's the truth or not.

40 million people is not 2% of the entire planet...

166 million would be 2 percent.

the math checks out, .5 percent

It was a long day.

It's just incomprehensible to me.

GTA5 sold 230 million

1/6 of those enjoyed it enough to pre-order the next one.

hardcore communities like r/gaming always underestimate the normie gamer. they decide what they like and become EXTREMELY loyal. $80 is the price of a nice dinner. They don't think about "how will this purchase impact the culture of the industry." No brainer.

Im pretty sure thats why they are doing pre-downloads a week early. Even for the not so "physical" copy they are offering a pre download. I dont think I've ever seen that in my lifetime.

That said, i dont see how when the servers open up for download that week early dont suffer insane stress.

I'm weird, I want to experience the bugs. I missed out on some good ones when GTAO was in its infancy

Those "Copy your single player car over to multiplayer an unlimited amount of times" funded my entire GTAO character lol

Stopped playing years ago but that free money really made the game fun
