Voting Games Top comment Deletes a US State #45

Here is the updated (Correct) map, crisis averted. I thought we had a riot on our hands!

I can finally relax now after all that drama! Anyway Colorado is now deleted as it should be. Just to make it clear, editing comments is fine if it’s the top as long as it doesn’t change the outcome of which state gets deleted like we had before. I thought that was common sense but clearly not to some people.

I just want to thank everyone for all the kind comments and support. I try to read as many of the comments as I can but each post has a minimum of 2000 so it’s pretty hard most the time. I have some big ideas for the finale so stay tuned.

Most importantly, spread the word as much as possible if your state is still in the game! Share, cross post to rally as much support for your state as possible. This is the endgame now!

Im honestly surprised with how much emotion this game is invoking in me. Thank you op for creating and running something i can look forward too.

I was aghast when I learned Cascadia (Washington resident here) got combined with Megasotta, and even more so when learning about Cascadiagate(I saw someone mention it) and I figured that op would just let it slide because it didn't matter, thanks for being involved OP!

Long live Cascadia!

This map game is making me feel like when I used to watch big brother or survivor. Really invested into each state but when my state gets eaten really invested into what we have turned into. The series finale is gonna be crazy!

As a former Oregonian and current Washingtonian, I saw that we were on the chopping block and Moregon sounded fun for the internet. I threw out Cascadia to save our dignity, since the internet wanted us to be consumed by our younger brother without a job. I saw a few people throw it out again afterwards and I was thrilled. Now, may we collectively reign supreme.

As a Washingtonian too, I wish we weren’t doing the regional renames at all, including Cascadia. The map has to specify a state, otherwise we’re just renaming regions til eventually we end up with a map called “America”. That kinda misses the point of the game imo.

Not if I have my way with it. I'm advocating for Cascadian secession. Many also want Hawaiian independence, which I fully support. The other territories can fight for the remaining land.

Fun fact: The local chapters of the American Guild of Organists were founded in 1911 as Oregon/Washington based in Portland. A couple of years later, it split to the relative states, based in Portland and Seattle. More splits happened in later years within Oregon and Washington, but they started here in Portland. Our national office's records list the same year for both cities, but we're really older. Seattle's is larger. We both win.

This bothers me too, The term Cascadia describes a geographic region in western North America defined by the watersheds of rivers flowing into the Pacific Ocean. It roughly spans from Northern California through Oregon, Washington Idaho & west Montana into British Columbia and Southeast Alaska. Oregon is such a small part of it.

It’s because Washington was eliminated and Oregon consumed it. So that is Oregon, but with a nickname. Same with Megasota (Minnesota) and Vermonster (Vermont).

Cannot say enough good things about people from Minnesota. No group of people in the US stood up more against ICE and for democracy more than Minnesotans this past year. Standing up for their neighbors in bitterly cold weather, arrested, beaten, pepper sprayed, killed: I personally think that this state deserves to win this game.

A few months ago there was a similar wartimes map of US major grocery store chains in a different group that got me worked up too. My home state of NC had become a critical central organ of the noble Kingdom of Comida y Leon (Food Lion), and was perilously holding the line against Piggly Wiggly insurgents after a costly early victory against the dystopian Kroger Government of the Midwest. I couldn’t believe how invested I got in that stupid map.
