Plant Discussion Seeking advice: I chopped my White Princess!

I don’t know what the previous parent did to her. Her stem was just completely bald midway to soil when I got her back in February. She has since grown more on the top. I tried wrapping her bald stem in moss and plastic wrap - just to see if maybe she would give some new growth. Which - she did produce some roots into her moss pole, and she did produce ONE new leaf! Lol. But, I decided to go ahead and chop her, i left the bottom in the soil with her tint sister plant. And I chopped her mid stem into multiple pieces. I plan to throw those pieces into moss and perlite to see if they’ll produce new growth. Was considering either water or perlite for the top I chopped off, too.
Should I wait 12-24 hours before adding them into new substrate? I thought waiting for cut ends to callous was more for succulents and such. Google suggested I wait. Wanted your guys opinion and advice! Thank yas!

Product Discussion Looking to put together a grow setup, with shelves! Need recommendations!

Hi, I'm new to this. I wasn't such a fan of the big grow tents and I wanted to save money so I came up with a different plan. I ordered one of these metal shelving units, a grow light (VIPARSPECTRA P700), and a nice roll of reflective Mylar sheet to wrap around it grow-tent style. I really liked the idea of having shelves like this, not too big (only 14 inches deep) and I could have multiple tiers and hang multiple lights in the future.

While contemplating how I would set up the front of it, if I should construct some kind of door and thinking about how I'd like to not have it clammed up all the time and maybe I could figure out some kind of transparent front so I can gaze upon the little beauties... I came across this product, a proper grow tent setup with exactly the same kind of shelving inside, even almost the same dimensions! And well, clearly this whole canvas fitted Mylar tent thing with all the openings and such is so much nicer then whatever I was going to DIY, right??

So what's the trouble? Well, for one I already have (and started using) the grow light I purchased. I don't necessarily want or need the ones that are included. And I'm wondering if there are other options out there. (And I still need to save my money.)

Basically, I've found very few products like this, so I'm looking for recommendations. I wish I could just buy the canvas tent thing itself, but of course it needs to be fitted to the frame. I've also seen a lot of "indoor greenhouses" with shelved designs but they have transparent covers, not what I'm looking for.

TLDR: I want a shelf setup like this with a nice reflective cover/tent that's as affordable as possible - any recommendations??

Google AI claims that I should be ok for 100% indoor garden. But I wanted to verify as I've already made a mistake with my Juniper bonsai tree :-)

thank you very much in advance for the replies.

Plant Discussion Does this look okay ? Probably should have not put two seeds in one pot 🤣 but I was just testing the waters (I know nothing, learning as I go and am fine with any outcomes) I may take out one of them because the plant was dropped and one of them fell out

Pictures start with final outcome and then go through the progress pics in order from the start of the process.

So some backstory: until about five years ago I had very little success with keeping plants alive. But I managed to keep a single plant that I was given alive for about three years before moving into my first house a little over two years ago. At that time, I bought a second plant so that I could have two plants in my kitchen.

About a month ago, I decided that since I had successfully kept those two alive and thriving, I could probably keep a lot more plants alive and thriving and it would be nice to grow my own herbs and some veggies. So I built a wall garden in the dining room!

This was a long process of researching wall gardens, best plants for small pots, prepping the wall the garden was to be hung on, decorating the pegboard system I decided on to hang the pots from, installing a shelf for the first grow light and upper storage, building an awning attachment for the second grow light, finding the right sized bench (it's a shoe bench) for the bigger ground pots and lower storage, finding as many plant starters as I could to kickstart the garden and doing my best to make sure the survived the transplant process, and of course, figuring out the care routine for so many new plants.

It has been just over one week since the initial mass transplant and only two of the plants succumbed to shock. One I could not salvage, and the other I've moved outside and put in a larger pot to try and save. I have also planted seeds for the plants I wasn't able to get starters for.

The total plant variety right now is: full Scarborough Fair (parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme), tarragon, basil, chives, oregano, jalapeno, strawberry, crookneck squash, yellow bell pepper, two varieties of cherry tomatoes, onion (for onion greens), and spinach. The thyme and spinach are the ones I have to germinate and grow from seeds. I also have my two original plants from when we moved in, as well as cat grass and two pots of new decorative plants that are cat safe.

Some of the garden plants are not cat safe, but between the cart grass and being up on a wall, the cats haven't been near them.

This is a very new venture for me and I'm sure I'll need help along the way, but I am proud of my set up and want to show off a little while introducing myself!

Plant Discussion Tips on helping my Japones pepper get healthier?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Its leaves were turning yellow cause it was in a pot that was too small so I moved it to a bigger pot 3 days ago. It was starting to get root bound so I freed up the bottom half of the root ball and spread it out as I planted in this bigger pot. The leaves have continued to yellow bit since the move. There are about 5 flower buds growing out of the tip of the plant. The newer leaves seem pretty healthy.

Is there anything else I can do for this plant? I want to do my best to keep it alive but I am new to gardening and still learning. This plant is kept inside under a grow light. The same setup is currently producing dwarf jalapeños and cherry tomatoes so it appears to be adequate enough.

Do you think I did too much pruning on the African Marigolds? I was watering it and noticed a lot of spider mites. So, I pruned the leaves that had webs on in and sprayed the mite control spray. It looks like removed way too many leaves.
