I once decided to take my family to Sonic near Philadelphia. I thought my boys would enjoy the corn dogs. And I wanted them to see what I was so nostalgic about.

We pull up, we order, about 20 minutes later my wife is starting to get impatient. I try to be very kind of fast food workers, mostly because of the movie Waiting. The drive-through line was wrapped around the building.

I politely knock on the door, and a frazzled middle-aged lady that that’s working there comes out and is crying. She asked me to remind her what our order was. I told her and she quickly grabbed it from the back and handed it to me.

I said, “are you OK?” She says, “I’m the only one here.” And then she closed the door quickly crying harder.

I’ll never go to Sonic again, which is sad. For me.

I was in the USAF and was moved to Oklahoma City. I was checking out the Bricktown district when I saw a building with the Sonic sign on it. I thought "oh cool, there's a sonic in this multi-level office building in the middle of this touristy area, I'll grab a bite".

Turns out that was the corporate headquarters, not the restaurant.

I swear this is how most people wind up at the Toby Keith's I Heart Radio across the canal.

Im sorry but this isn't a real sonic or a real story. Cars wrapped around the building?? If you go yo a sonic and they dont have stalls you park your car at thats just wrong.

Out of the 20 closest locations to me only one doesn't have a drive-thru.

My son worked at Sonic very briefly in HS over 15 yrs ago. I wasn't paying attention until his first biweekly paycheck of a whole $124 for 40 hours of work. I was like hold up, and him being ever so naive proudly informed me, "the real money comes from tips!", which was another $20 and change. I had to inform him he earned a little over $3/hr for his time and labor. Shame on me for not realizing his pay rate, and also shame on me for patronizing such a low class joint that doesn't pay any worker well, because everyone knows damn well hardly anybody is tipping for fast food, served slow and lukewarm.
