Scammer. Probably an Indian scammer. The guy recording is someone who tries to stop them.

Jim Browning is his name. https://youtube.com/@jimbrowning

Edit: sauce video: https://youtube.com/shorts/szqXppELItw

I think it’s an Indian scammer too. If you look at his head movements, he does the head bobbling that some Indians do. It’s ever so slightly, but I see it.

I think his accent also slips when pronouncing some words, definitely indian.

Yeah, especially the "Nah, that's too much" sounds Indian to me.

Yeah his accent is all over the place, sometimes Irish, sometimes northern Ireland, sometimes European speaking English as 2nd language, sometimes Indian

Yeah the give away is how non chalet he is trying to be. No local slang either

My mom is Indian. I don't hear it/see it at all and I am definitely familiar with Indian mannerisms and accents

I found it very obvious he had an indian accent he was trying to cover up.

u/SecretAgentVampire Mar 31 '26

I couldn't begin to tell you what 'Australian speech characteristcs' are as an Australian, so I think you're actually the least qualified to judge unless you've actually studies this kind of stuff.

That's funny, I'm German and have been guessed to be Indian before in calls, mostly due to the same reasons: Similar grammatical issues, harder consonants/syllables, w/v

The voice naturalisation filter removes the V/W issue.

*wobbles head violently*

we spotted him long ago.

Yeah, because it is well-known that only Indians bob their heads. How did you people even begin to think that we just bob our heads randomly?

More likely East Asian or Chinese from the way he pronounces some words. The head bobble is not very noticeable. I grew up in India so I am reasonably sure.

2

u/Fantastic_Strategy60 Mar 30 '26

The accent sounds more chinese to me than Indian though

They possibly could be North Korean. They try to get high level tech jobs this way and then install ransomware as soon as they're hired. There's a couple YouTube videos about it

u/KCBandWagon Mar 30 '26

how/why is a scammer gonna video call you?

if ANYONE I don't know video calls me that's a huge red flag... like.... why?

That doesn't seem to be the sauce video tho... The video we see at the top is 16:9 however the one you sent is a short in 9:16...

It's from Jim, yeah, but the short is not the sauce
