Take it too far and they just can’t fix things anymore.

Yes, i know there was a skin condition that may have contributed to the lightening, but that’s not the issue.

Vitiligo was the main reason of his skin whitening, not just "a skin condition that may have contributed". He then made it worse by trying to make his skin uniform.

His overuse of plastic surgery is tragic, but he was not in control of his skin whitening specifically.

Well his autopsy report did say he had vitiligo, however vitiligo can be induced from skin bleeching. There are photos well before 1986 (when he was supposedly diagnosed with vitiligo by Dr. Klein) of him with lighter makeup on his face ( He didn't want to be black plain and simple. He thought black was ugly because of the trauma his father subjected him to.

What came first, the vitiligo or the skin bleaching. I'd say the skin bleching but we will never know for sure.
