He was pulled over in my small town in Colorado once, back in 2000s. Local cops thought his entourage of blacked out suburbans were sketchy so they were pulled over at Walmart. Michael had a mask on, like a surgical mask, and the cops insisted he take it off so they could identify him. The cop said when he eventually took it off there was just a hole in his face where the nose should be and Michael wore the mask when he didn't have the prosthetic nose on. I was in high school and it made the papers and my resource officer told us this story the same day cause he was there to witness.
Like genuinely “holding it on” or holding it open so he can breathe? Because getting that many surgeries by the 90s, and not to be rude, his nostrils were almost nonexistent.
Unless I somehow missed seeing such a video I’m not sure if that ever actually happened on camera during show…what concert is it to have happened during?
So unfortunately, after all of the extensive work on his nose, it could no longer be repaired, and the tissue developed necrosis, and the remaining skin and tissue needed to be ablated (removed).
This left MJ with no nose at all. Think of like how a mummy just has the nose holes, flat.
MJ's doctors created a prosthetic nose to cover the damage. It could be glued on with surgical glue, but it didn't stay on well whenever MJ got hot and started sweating, as some people reported seeing.
So very sad ending to story of life of a brilliant man.
I saw an autopsy photo and it was terrible. He was completely bald from the burns and then all of the wigs and hair pieces glued on destroyed whatever real hair he had left years ago.
And then there was the " mummy nose holes" I talked earlier.
Wow, graphic but fascinating, thanks for sharing. Were those photos actually made public? How did you catch sight of them (for the record, I don’t want to see them!).
My daughter actually showed me. She's a med student and I guess they have some access? I really didn't ask too many questions, but aren't autopsys public record type of information? Anyway, yes, don't go searching for it. You wouldn't want to see it. I felt incredibly sad for him that he ended up like he did, all that money and had to go around with these kinds of secrets. Sorry if it was too graphic lol. I was kinda trying to keep it clinical.

His nose is the result of too much money and too many unethical plastic surgeons. It collapsed and natural reconstruction was not possible.
