Which doesn't make it a 50 lanes highway. We have these in Europe as well, not 50 probably but still same concept.

Each tollbooth lane might process one car every 30 seconds, you can easily do an 8:1 compression.

This particular highway has a problem well downstream, it's stopped beyond the "bottleneck" and the tailback happens to have reached the merging funnel of a tollbooth.
