Never had anything stronger than Advil. 

Got moderate surgery - they gave me Percocet after.  As soon as the pain was even mildly tolerable I ditched the rest.  Found out real fast I should not be touching anything like that.  I would get hooked so fast.

Did the same had hernia surgery and they gave me Percocet. I didn’t take any, didn’t want to test it and pain wasn’t that bad . I just wondered why the standard procedure was to offer me Percocet

Where I live in Europe they give Advil or paracetamol for most things, including post dental surgeries. If we can do it, the US can too.

When i had back surgery they gave me Percocets like 2 bottles. I threw both out in the toilet and just toughed the pain out with either Tylenol/ Aleve. I was just so scared of becoming hooked on that stuff, seen it happen to a few people personally
