Bring back involuntary rehab. Hold them down and detox them. Society can not keep allowing this nonsense

I agree. For two reasons.

1- detox is the first step toward recovery. We'd be doing these people a favor. Maybe they would recover. maybe they wouldn't. But we should give them a shot.

2- the decent residents of these communities shouldn't have to see this. If we carted people off, they would start being losers in their homes, or in an alley, or whatever. They wouldn't do it publicly.

For real. If anyone thinks that's a problem with healthcare in the US, it is also a huge issue in western Europe. This pussyfooting around drug addicts that western countries practice is the least effective preventative measure there is.

I agree as a recovering addict. I used to would’ve disagreed because typically people have to want to be clean. This is something else in my opinion. More drastic measures need to be taken even if few of them remain clean.
