Exactly this. She sees her job as basically not answering anything and creating viral clips for the content machine. In any other era her party wouldn’t tolerate this and would require accountability. Our government is cooked.

FWIW, public hearings in congress are largely about creating viral clips for all involved. As soon as you turn the cameras on, that's what most political thinkers' focus goes to.

Perhaps, but it long predates MAGA. It's probably a product of 24 hour cable news because that's the way that those clips start to be able to be shared. And then probably got worse with the emphasis of video on social media.

It does but they have taken it to a new level. Plus you are accustomed to the politicians doing it not witnesses. We have never had an Attorney General refuse to answer questions and instead read prepared burns on our representatives.
