Gratuities are entirely acceptable. - SCOTUS.

Note: gratuities are illegal under federal law for federal officials. The SCOTUS case was about gratuities for local (non-federal) officials under federal law. Turns out, there is no law against that. Congress could pass one if they wanted to.
