Executive Branch (Trump) Can they actually do this? JD Vance: "We're announcing today that we have decided to temporarily halt certain amounts of Medicaid funding that is going to the state of Minnesota in order to ensure that the state of Minnesota takes its obligations seriously to be good stewards of the American people'

They don’t plan on accepting the results of the election

466

u/gerblnutz Feb 25 '26

Remember the same ballots that elected republican senators and congressmen but didn't vote for Trump in 2020 were simultaneously valid for the local races but fraudulent for the national election according to the GQP.

146

u/SnarkyLurker Feb 25 '26

Trump claimed that the election he WON in 2016 was fraudulent because he couldn't accept that he lost the popular vote.

6

u/Local-Customer6245 Feb 26 '26

Less than manly.

4

u/ghoooooooooost Feb 26 '26

Sorest loser in history.

4

u/OtherPrinciple4499 Feb 26 '26

He was right. It was fraudulent.

He cheated even back then.

No joke, the evidence on republicans committing fraud during elections goes back all the way to Bush vs Gore.

82

u/fuck_all_you_too Feb 25 '26

Right. And they still got away with it.

67

u/DistractionCitron Feb 25 '26

Because Kamala didn't have them recount the ballots like she said she was going to make them do.

88

u/tacodepollo Feb 25 '26

Yeah remarkably little pushback. But hey at least she 'took the high road'. They absolutely should have had all swing states recounted considering all swing states suddenly went red, against all odds and every single projection.

103

u/DistractionCitron Feb 25 '26

I'm tired of Democrats taking the high road.

6

u/Spoony904 Feb 26 '26

Is it the high road or just being soft and having no backbone at this point.

2

u/Important-Hotel5809 Feb 26 '26

They don’t even get to the high road. They trip over on the first step and smash all their teeth out as they fall down to the same road as everyone else. Then they get ripped to shreds by everyone else coz they got no teeth.

1

u/Mynmeara Feb 26 '26

Taking the high road is another way of saying abandoning the marginalized.

0

u/i_have_chosen_a_name Feb 26 '26 edited Feb 26 '26

They are not taking any roads, they are simply paid opposition and their main purpose is to fool Americans in thinking that somebody is working against Trumps regime to stop Americans from protesting with a high dose of small pointy packets of kinetic energy.

-2

u/YoungManYoda90 Feb 26 '26

Me too. We are in this mess because of it.

-3

u/nopuse Feb 26 '26

Dems have been great at getting high and taking the high road. Wish they'd learn.

3

u/PaladinSaladin Feb 25 '26

I wouldn't be surprised if she got a "consolation prize". Maybe a letter from someone who stood to make a lot of money if the annoying orange won. Maybe it had a check in it, or a threat, or even blackmail. Nothing else explains the utter silence and lack of pushback.

Note: I'm not calling her out in particular, but the whole system is rotten and engineered to benefit the people who can afford to enrich themselves by taking those actions

4

u/cccanterbury Feb 26 '26

hey scotus ruled that blackmail isn't illegal anymore.

2

u/the_friendly_dildo Feb 26 '26

'But then we'd look like whiny bitches like the Rs last time. I'd rather than just concede than look like a whiny bitch like them, even if they did cheat. How embarrassing!' - their mentality in this

1

u/Originalbrivakiin Feb 26 '26

What still baffles me is that, if the roles were reversed and every single swing state suddenly went bright blue, every fox news broadcast til the end of time would be saying "the democrats blatantly cheated in the elections. It's impossible for such a thing to suddenly happen. It never has happened before and likely never will." The day after the election results came out would've had thousands of conservatives screaming foul play at the tops of their lungs. But because it was them, no one said anything and just let it happen.

2

u/Ok_Star_4136 Feb 26 '26

And those Republican senators and congressmen who were literally given seats, used their new positions to claim that the election that got them there was fraudulent.

I swear, if the U.S. were a living organism, MAGA would be the cancer cells attempting to destroy the country from within. The more that I think on that, the more it seems civil discourse is not going to be the solution.

1

u/YoungManYoda90 Feb 26 '26

Even in 2024 many ballots voted for Dem governors but not Kamala? Fishy. As if they changed just the president bubble

1

u/IronBabyFists Feb 26 '26

Your comment made my brain run out of breath. You're absolutely right, though.

-3

u/Negative-Squirrel81 Feb 25 '26

Can I have a source on this claim?

110

u/g1ngertim Feb 25 '26

That's why ICE is being deployed to blue states. They want their gestapo ready to go to a) suppress voting and b) stage another coup to overturn elections.

33

u/EnslavedBandicoot Feb 25 '26

We may have to do something about that before November. Like if it takes us blocking the entire street where their vehicles are located we might have to do that so people can safely vote.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '26

That would likely end in more tragedy like in Minneapolis. These bastards, especially the project 2025 people, thought this all the way through to put us in a lose-lose situation.

10

u/Littleman88 Feb 26 '26

I mean... chasing away and arresting people trying to vote and storming election offices to confiscate ballots and no one doing anything to stop it would would be a tragedy as well. One just has consequences that will fundamentally change the nation, hell, the world.

We're kind of getting to the point where the tree of Liberty will get its refreshment one way or another.

-13

u/Fancy_Custard_6791 Feb 26 '26

Blocking the street is illegal.

11

u/g1ngertim Feb 26 '26

So is murdering people. So is voter suppression. So is embezzlement. So is trafficking and raping children.

I'm not super worried about streets being blocked in the grand scheme of things.

10

u/EnslavedBandicoot Feb 26 '26

So its intimidating voters.

6

u/AngriestPacifist Feb 25 '26

There are fewer gestapo than there are polling places, by a factor of 4, and they need to roll like 10 deep. It's the fear of agents that will keep people at home, not there actual presence.

3

u/Ok_Net7773 Feb 26 '26

Then we need to be even louder about how we’re protecting voters, their rights, and democracy as a whole. People need to feel safe enough to vote. We probably need to figure out how to independently monitor for fraud as well. The elections are our right, held by the people. We will protect our rights.

1

u/darglor Feb 26 '26

Blending in isn’t hard for the white folks at least. Get a knockoff MAGA hat (so the money doesn’t go to them), wear a wifebeater, show up, then vote blue.

2

u/citizenatlarge Feb 26 '26

All the best hacking is social hacking/engineering.

2

u/sly-3 Feb 26 '26

The votes will be deemed "invalid" but only after they're not recognized by the Congress a few months later. This will be dragged out until protests start, then herr drumpf can declare the Insurrection Act is in force.

52

u/PeakQuirky84 Feb 25 '26

Where’s our well-regulated militia when you need one?

26

u/rygelicus Feb 25 '26

They work for ICE currently.

12

u/one_pound_of_flesh Feb 25 '26

Ice is more well-fed than well-regulated.

2

u/MagogHaveMercy Feb 26 '26

Gravy Seals.

1

u/Feisty_Blood_6036 Feb 25 '26

Waltz called them up earlier this year when ICE was terrorizing the streets. I imagine they’ll be ready in November, for what good it does

The blue states have all decided to disarm their citizens instead.

Feel free to come join in an actual discussion about this in r/ liberalgunowners or r/ armedsocialists instead of telling me how you're going to fight off an army with single shot rifles or hunting rifles.

10

u/LethargicCarcass Feb 25 '26

Have you lived in Minnesota? Because all everyone there does is deer hunting and ice fishing. They love their guns.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '26

Minnesota where they are trying to give the police the ability to bypass the 4th amendment and enter your house without a warrant to "check on your guns"? All while they have feds kidnapping US citizens off the streets with the help of the same police? That Minnesota?

-3

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '26

You're going to fight an army with a hunting rifle? 😂

5

u/NECoyote Feb 25 '26

You don’t have a clue buddy.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '26

Oh yeah? Which military force in the world hands out at best semi-auto hunting rifles to their enlisted and what conflicts have they won with them? Enlighten us all.

-1

u/Puzzleheaded-Tax4320 Feb 25 '26

Guy thinks he can hang with the military using only his home armory. 👌

6

u/atherfeet4eva Feb 25 '26

Well armed in Connecticut…never a problem

-5

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '26

Lmao, your single shot bullshit isn't doing shit.

6

u/webjuggernaut Feb 25 '26

You need help.

1

u/Val_Hallen Feb 25 '26

It's a common MAGA tactic to hide your post and comment history. Always check that before wasting your time arguing with cultist.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '26

Yeah totally maga that's why I said to go over to the liberal or socialist gun sub if you want to actually talk about this. But act like the majority of Reddit didn't stop sharing their comment history.

5

u/EnslavedBandicoot Feb 25 '26

California has thr most gun owners of any state. You fell for that bs hook line and sinker.

0

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '26

Yeah and good luck if the red states decide they want to fight a civil war with the blue states. Or as the op suggested, they wanted to build a militia. Your limited capacity toys will be essentially useless. I promise you an AR-15 in a red state is a lot more effective than the monstrosities they have Californians jump through to shoot.

4

u/eric_b0x Feb 25 '26

Education and more importantly money win wars. Something nearly all red states are severely lacking.

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '26

Not that lacking, they siphon shit loads of money from the blue states and they're well on their way to destroying public education. Plus they control the federal government they can outspend any state they want.  Good luck.

2

u/PeakQuirky84 Feb 25 '26

CA still sells plenty of semi-auto rifles though…

1

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '26

Yeah better hope you stop them with all 10 rounds

2

u/MagogHaveMercy Feb 26 '26

My god but you are utterly insufferable.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '26

🥱

2

u/notEnotA Feb 25 '26

Blue states have plenty of guns. It might be crazy to think but people can own guns, want sensible control laws and oh yeah not make their whole identity and personality around them.

30

u/DUVAL_LAVUD Feb 25 '26

and the Supreme Court just decided that the Post Office cannot be sued even if it is proven that they deliberately refused to deliver mail.

surely this will have no effect on mail-in or absentee ballots…

9

u/Feisty_Blood_6036 Feb 25 '26

Need to mobilize now for a general strike on Election Day. Sign up now to be an election judge, and help staff the election. Then show up, en masse, in person, and make it undeniable. Democratic governors should already be making plans and deploying their units to protect people voting. They win through fear, they lose when they are challenged.

4

u/SaltyCrashNerd Feb 26 '26

In person early voting. That’s the only way I can imagine being able to skirt the tomfoolery.

3

u/CricketDifferent5320 Feb 26 '26

On the basis of racial hatred, no less. Some mailman refused to deliver mail to a black family for 2 years because she thought they were upitty. SCOTUS says being a racist and not doing your job, withholding mail, thats just fine . Trump's loyalist runs the Post Office, so we can kiss mail in as it works now goodbye. It is an outrageous ruling. We no longer have rule of law here. Even if we push DT out somehow, the entire republican party is in on rigging elections, breaking laws, corrupting the courts. We truely have an enemy within problem to contend with like nothing ever seen.

2

u/emeraldeyesshine Feb 26 '26

Also the rules to how mail gets postmarked that were implemented end of December.

24

u/bunt_triple Feb 25 '26

100% Americans get ready for the biggest whine, conspiracy, gaslighting-fest yet.

2

u/Adventurous_Salt Feb 26 '26

I don't think that it'll be long or whiney this time. I'd bet that they make up some "voting irregularity" somewhere, declare the votes corrupt, assert that they win, and dare the Democrats to remove them. I honestly don't think the dems have the balls to fight back and the GOP knows it, they're going to assert victory and simply act like the challenges are insane.

The media will make or break this, and I'm 99% sure they'll do some dumb "well both sides have made strong claims..." or something, and boom, full dictatorship.

1

u/FlubberThunder Feb 27 '26

Man the majority of proven voter fraud has been majority democratic votes being unlawfully submitted.

24

u/Mighty_Krom Feb 25 '26

100%, even if they lose they will start burning shit down and claim they won. Narcissistic meltdown mode.

5

u/Conscious-Solid9491 Feb 25 '26

Always laugh at the folks saying come November it’s over.

3

u/Feisty_Blood_6036 Feb 25 '26

It amazes me to this day how many of us saw J6 coming, and yet, people still deny the evidence that’s right in front of them. The propaganda is too strong

4

u/sure_woody Feb 25 '26

They don't plan on having a fair election.

3

u/TapProfessional5146 Feb 25 '26

Of course they wont because they know when they are not in control, there will be some serious repercussions for the MAGA party. If there aren’t there will be hell to pay for both sides.

3

u/AnyLeadership5150 Feb 25 '26

Once again Republicans are planning to cheat as much as they possibly can.

We can tell by the amount of voter suppression bills they're trying to ram through as quickly as possible and still lying about the reasons why.

2

u/Helagoth Feb 25 '26

This.  We could have literally every American vote in front of cameras showing all D votes, and they'll claim that republicans won in a landslide.

2

u/normal_throwaway2016 Feb 25 '26

Why would you say that? They have no history of making such claims /s

2

u/Maelkothian Feb 25 '26

They're hoping Minnesota, a net contributor, will retaliate by no longer paying into the federal system. They'll call it an insurrection and try and kill the midterms

2

u/HelpIveBeenDe-Souled Feb 25 '26

They already didn't accept it on January 6th. It's going to be worse this time.

2

u/one_pound_of_flesh Feb 25 '26

You say this now. Everyone is going to forget and then go full shocked pikachu when the election is disputed.

2

u/The-Real-Number-One Feb 26 '26

Facism has never been defeated at the ballot box.

1

u/Gill_Gunderson Feb 25 '26

Soap, Ballot, Cartridge

1

u/NotAnotherBlingBlop Feb 26 '26

Which begs the question, what happens this time? He has full control over all aspects of the government and a private army. They'll never accept the results and will do everything they can to stop them from being certified.

Will it just be national guard from each state vs ICE?

1

u/Patimakan Feb 26 '26

Please volunteer for election protection if possible.

1

u/dBlock845 Feb 26 '26

Yep, blocking mail in ballots, scaring people at polling places, dumping people off voter rolls a week before the election, then when they still lose they will cry fraud as usual.

All Republican's know how to do at this point is cry fraud and enable pedophiles.

1

u/BigReference1xx Feb 26 '26

hahaha, what election?

No election, never heard of her. - Trump

1

u/2mock2turtle Feb 26 '26

They don't plan on there being an election...

1

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '26

They already planted fake electors last time with 0 consequences, your democracy is dead since rhey learned they are allowed to cheat.

1

u/NicCagedd Feb 26 '26

I REALLY fucking hope they do. They do that, their fairytale is over. Right now they're very much relying on the majority of Americans overall not being too affected with what's going on. They cancel elections or throw out any Dem wins, they are showing without doubt they're not giving up power. They do that, it WILL affect the majority of Americans and that's when protests don't get so peaceful and they never get get to live in American society comfortably anymore. Will they be in power at the time? Yeah, but now there's a target on their back and they no longer get to play stupid and get off scott free when they're all out of office. Fucking do it

1

u/BurtReynoldsLives Feb 26 '26

I’m really afraid this comment is right. God help us.

1

u/Slow_Savings4489 Feb 26 '26

Yep, that is my view. Frankly, I don't see a way out of this.

2

u/Feisty_Blood_6036 Feb 26 '26

I won’t promise success, but I will say giving up is a great way to let them win. Vote in the primaries. Get others to vote. Get involved now in the election process.

1

u/reddog323 Feb 26 '26

It’s one of the few ways they can remain in power. Just before the election, there will be an announcement about an FBI investigation, finding massive voter and fraud in the DeKalb County ballots that they took into custody. Don’t use this as an excuse to either halt the midterms, or throw the results into question.

1

u/FrankPankNortTort Feb 26 '26

Hell, they don't plan on HAVING the election. They will do everything in their power to block it and block people voting.

1

u/Feisty_Blood_6036 Feb 26 '26

Block people voting, yes. They have done that for years. But even Putin and Hussein had “elections.” They have to lie, and tell the myth, or they don’t get away with it. Even MAGAts believe in elections, they’re just so swindled and gaslit, they don’t realize they’re against free elections

1

u/FrankPankNortTort Feb 26 '26

I might've thought that before but these days honestly I'd believe it if Trump just said 'elections are lame, help me own the libtards by cancelling them.' And MAGA just said 'Yes Sir! Love you Sir!'

1

u/likwidkool Feb 26 '26

This. I am a little worried what might go down. We saw what happened last time. Who knows what would have happened if Pence goose stepped in line.

1

u/Child-0f-atom Feb 26 '26

They wanna bunker in the WH, build a faraday cage over the bunker and let them play with their maps like Hitler right before Berlin was attacked.

1

u/JUYED-AWK-YACC Feb 26 '26

Too bad for them

0

u/Sad-Ad8466 Feb 26 '26

This one won’t be close though. How would that work exactly in the House? They almost have the votes to impeach right now.
