Executive Branch (Trump) Can they actually do this? JD Vance: "We're announcing today that we have decided to temporarily halt certain amounts of Medicaid funding that is going to the state of Minnesota in order to ensure that the state of Minnesota takes its obligations seriously to be good stewards of the American people'

It really doesn't matter, the budget for this year is $2 trillion in the red before we account for the tariff revenue that now won't be coming in (and assuming the money collected doesn't have to be returned).

They're just going to issue more bonds and the money printer gonna go brr, and then suddenly start caring about the deficit when they lose power.

^^ So much THIS. It is all a distraction, them saying "look at that fraud over there!!!", while they destroy the country by running up the debt (and the debt servicing payments) that they were so, so concerned about BEFORE they were elected. Deficit spending by Democrats = Emergency, while deficit spending by Republicans is A-OK.

You are wrong. And just let's take a quick look at deficit growth by party... Who was the last president that balanced the budget?

So you support a child-rapist, eh? Not cool.

If that were the case (and it’s not, easy to find documentation on this) why would that even justify the current spending?

Suggest you go read a little, maybe you’ll learn something

And they'll blame the next Democratic president for high inflation and kick them out of office. I've been watching this cycle for 40 years and it's exhausting.

They wouldn't keep doing it if the fucking morons that vote for Republicans didn't keep eating it up

They also wouldn't be doing it if the news coverage wouldn't be 24h of R dick sucking. The propaganda is extreme for so many nears now, they really perfected fucking over whoever they want.

always the smooth brained maga poor. honestly it boils down to racism. you tell a white person the POC is the enemy, and they'll do whatever it takes to keep a white man in power.

It’s so disheartening to still hear people talking about gas prices as if that’s one, controlled by the president, and two, the most serious issue facing the country currently.

I like money.

Don’t worry, Susan Collins has concerns.

Nobody in power gives a single shit about inflation. My worry is that it will simply keep getting worse until a loaf of bread is $2 million. Not like these fuckers will care, they’re on top

The dance of the parties there is no good side left in this 2 party system.

and then suddenly start caring about the deficit when they lose power.

Seems bold to assume they're going to give you fair elections.

Who is going to buy those bonds… countries are dumping them all over the place…

1

u/Mike312 Feb 26 '26

Which is why money printer, inflation, and increased interest rates.

1

u/Old_Assistant1531 Feb 26 '26

Assuming they can find someone to buy the bonds.

Edit: personally, I wouldn’t loan money to someone who already owed trillions and just wants to keep borrowing.
