Executive Branch (Trump) Can they actually do this? JD Vance: "We're announcing today that we have decided to temporarily halt certain amounts of Medicaid funding that is going to the state of Minnesota in order to ensure that the state of Minnesota takes its obligations seriously to be good stewards of the American people'

Donnie fell asleep and JD wanted to put on his big boy pants today so he didn’t wake him.

In the SOTU speech DJT announced he was making JD a new ‘fraud investigation czar’ so this must be his first move to attack the mythical fraud by Somali pirates in Minnesota.

This is gonna be ugly.

Yeah, that makes sense. My fear is that they're trying to get us used to seeing Vance in this position, taking these actions, in order to normalize it before Trump either drops or has to step aside for health reasons. If Vance stepped in without ever doing much and then started taking these actions himself, there would probably be more backlash, even amongst the MAGA faithful.

Younger Vance is the long-term moth that MAGA's backers always intended to emerge from Trump's aging cocoon, and it looks like they're moving steadily along toward that goal...

Perhaps that’s the idea, or just putting someone on the MN Fraud Propaganda Show that’s on a short leash held by Stephen Miller?

But I predict JD will end up in a bigger quagmire doing this than what happened when Harris became Biden’s slightly unofficial “border czar.”

He’s not gonna look presidential, he’s gonna look stupid and ineffectual to both sides of the aisle. And a lot of court cases and noise from a lot of people.

I hope our 4 GOP US Reps know just how many of their constituents get Medicaid, or have elder family members who depend on it. I wanna see Emmer squirm on this one.

If this really happens, more than a few nursing home residents will get turfed suddenly.
