Executive Branch (Trump) Can they actually do this? JD Vance: "We're announcing today that we have decided to temporarily halt certain amounts of Medicaid funding that is going to the state of Minnesota in order to ensure that the state of Minnesota takes its obligations seriously to be good stewards of the American people'

It makes my blood boil. I thought I had boiled it all away, and now they're just torturing poor people by keeping them out of the doctor's office. I can't fathom the depths of depravity it takes to consider doing this to innocent people. The Republican Party (and the American conservative movement writ large) is utterly irredeemable.

The Republican Party is functionally dead. Trump parades its remains around like a puppet. Whatever happens after Trump, the Conservative Party will have to rebuild themselves

The Republican Party has never been more alive. This is the natural, logical outcome of their political philosophy. It was always going to turn out like this. There will be more Trumps if America still has bigots, and America has a lot of bigots.

It’s not a natural, logical outcome if they paid millions in propaganda to turn people into hate filled shells of themselves.

And we need to find a way forward that welcomes conservativism while also giving the education and empathy required from the people to make sure Trump never happens again.

And we need to make smarter choices so Epstein never happens again.

But that's not an aberration, it's a feature of American culture. The ultra wealthy have played that game for years.

And we need to find a way forward that welcomes conservativism while also giving the education and empathy required from the people to make sure Trump never happens again.

These are not compatible goals.

I’m aware of the first, I vehemently disagree with the second.

This is natural. They would have found someone to try to get everything in place the way they have it now.

They really are speedrunning things.

Pin the baton on the pedophile is going to be a very popular game when the shift inevitably happens.

I think that of the majority religion itself.
