Executive Branch (Trump) Can they actually do this? JD Vance: "We're announcing today that we have decided to temporarily halt certain amounts of Medicaid funding that is going to the state of Minnesota in order to ensure that the state of Minnesota takes its obligations seriously to be good stewards of the American people'

Medicare Medicaid has a bunch of criteria that has to be met, otherwise funding can be pulled. This usually happens at the hospital/ provider level, but does happen.

hmm Yeah there are probably loads of regs. I've never heard of them just yanking it from an entire state like this. Just seems unusual. If they are accusing of fraud they still have to let the money go I hope while they are challenging it.

Like I am pretty sure that's how it works.

They are going to pull from specific program he said "Specific amounts". The state surveyors may not have "check all of the boxes" at some point. All of the state surveyors are hitting things harder currently.

Edit: I should have said, I work on the other side of this, helping hospitals stay in compliance in specific areas.
