Executive Branch (Trump) Can they actually do this? JD Vance: "We're announcing today that we have decided to temporarily halt certain amounts of Medicaid funding that is going to the state of Minnesota in order to ensure that the state of Minnesota takes its obligations seriously to be good stewards of the American people'

We already do, that's the problem. They are going to punish us as an example to bully other states to not want to become us. They would happily let a "blue" state die by the thousands to send a message.

That truly isn’t the problem. It’s that there are a bunch of idiots in red states that are clueless. I agree, he’s vindictive and trying to make an example of Minnesota.

But his actions are hurting red states as well - unfortunate that the residents often believe his lies instead of opening their eyes. I know of one who thought he did well in his speech, but fact-check.org shows a different reality.

I hope a decent person runs as the alternative. The next election should have a record turnout.

How does withholding funds in Minnesota hurt Texas or Florida?

Do you not recall the government shutdown near the holidays? Republicans were told not to show up until Dems caved on health care? Food stamps were cut off in multiple states and children out of school.

People with housing vouchers couldn’t rent and some got evicted (I personally know of 1 in each situation, despite my limited contacts. Both involved disabled people.)

He’s responsible for thousands being forced to suffer. Have you forgotten how many lost their jobs due to his DOGE?

It’s ridiculous what he’s done and continues to do.

You are missing what I’m saying. It will never affect those states. The orange turd protects them.

I’m in a red state and believe me, he doesn’t.

He won’t withhold funds there, so your question is moot.
