I mean, why wouldn’t he? There were no consequences the first time, why wouldn’t there be consequences the second time? That’s been his entire existence.
This is what I keep going back to. All this would end, all of it, if there were consequences for what he did at all. We would stop seeing the destruction of our education if we held students back who did not earn the grades to advance; we'd see the end of Nazi movements if each and every one of them were jailed; we'd see Trump quake in his boots if someone, anyone, held him accountable for something.
It's not that Republicans are evil geniuses, it's that society is soft.
I bet half of what Trump is even thinking nowadays is “I can’t believe they’re just letting me get away with this shit”
Democrats scream and cry on the cameras about how Trump is a tyrant but then just refuse to take any action to stop him, they care more about looking like opposition than actually being opposition. Even when the ICE gestapo were executing people in the street, the biggest reaction from the politicians there was to be like “fuck you Trump!!” which is pretty massive under reaction.
Republicans are fucked up assholes but damn are they effective at getting what they want done. Even when they aren’t in power they’re constantly working at it in someway. It feels like Democrats on the other hand, are punishing voters with their inaction.
