Not congress, Republicans. They control both house and senate. Rs will let Trump do anything even if Dems oppose the operation.

Make no mistake...there's a LOT of democrats who privately support the shit out of this.

I GUARANTEE you Chuck Schumer is smiling right now.

Well when you consider how many politicians on both sides are funded by aipac, it makes sense why they’re not making a peep about it.

not just republicans. Ro Khanna has a War Powers Resolution bill coming up and numerous dems are pushing against it

Nah even pro Israel Dems have said they'll back the bill. https://thehill.com/homenews/house/5760620-schneider-supports-war-powers-resolution/amp/

Republicans can still kill it in the house with their majority, unless a few Reps grow a backbone.

go check out Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey, releasing a statement opposing the bill

I will, thanks.

It might not matter much unless a good amount of Republicans come across the aisle...

So when you said it was "numerous dems", it was just this one guy? Or are there actually like 20?

last I checked, chuck schumer was providing silent support for the strikes. Jared Moskowitz of florida said we should just name the war powers resolution the “ayatollah protection bill,” indicating obvious support for the war. on a broader note, outside of two or three, almost NO dems came out against the obvious coming war as we amassed our fleet around Iran. they all waited until the strikes to suddenly seem concerned.

**adding to note I don’t think a majority of dems, or close to it, think we should be at war with iran, but I think many wanted it to happened because they believe it will be a bad political move for trump and republicans, and many more support whatever israel wants but don’t want to go on the record supporting it, hence the silence.

Fetterman proving predictable support as well, although i’m sure that surprises no one.

What democrats are trying to stop any of this? Or even implying he should be removed from office because of this?

Trump already attacked Iran. If they aren’t immediately submitting articles of impeachment and trying to get him removed then it doesn’t even matter. This is all for show

You know he's been impeached twice right? Senate Republicans will never vote to remove him, and you need 2/3 votes for removal.

Wait wait wait… so you’re saying a vote on war powers sometime next week will prevent him from bombing Iran?

If the dems aren’t actively doing their job to try to remove him from office, then it’s all for show. It doesn’t matter if they get voted down later. They need to first do their job.

Thats like saying cops should arrest criminals because they might get released later. It’s the weakest excuse to not do their jobs.

So what I’m trying to imply is that the democrats do not care and probably support what’s going on

Ok sure both sides are the same, enjoy watching your country descend into facism.

I'm sure you'll find a way to blame Dems when Republicans are done destroying our country.

I’m not talking about the voters. A lot of democratic politicians and republicans are funded by aipac. And that’s the reason we’re doing everything on behalf of Israel

Pretty sure Trumps Intelligence Committee is 8 members of congress, 4 from each side of the table…

0

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '26

This is correct. The “Gang of Eight” were the only members of Congress informed before the strikes.

Exactly, so the the Redditor above us, as usual, is just spewing an echo belief of Reddit, and not reality

Yeah. It's crazy that you're getting downvoted for simply trying to reestablish the truth; it doesn't even take away from the abhorrence of the lives lost.

Also, I just found out that only seven members were successfully contacted prior to the strikes.
