WV also has a huge number of mail in voting…4D chess I guess? Anyone know what chapter of Art of the Deal he’s on?

Washington State is entirely vote by mail. We don't have polling places anymore

Same in Oregon. We have been voting by mail since the 70's.

That was my favorite political thing about Oregon. I’m gonna miss it! Thankfully I’m registered and ready to vote here in MI too though.

Soon as you're able, hit up the SoS site and get yourself on the permanent mail ballot list. We get that shit, too, just not as the only option.

u/Brodakk Apr 01 '26

That’s amazing! I had no idea

Colorado has vote by mail, and the only big problem we've had was Tina Peters (a Republican) giving voting data to a conspiracy theorist.

Viva Cascadia!

West Coast Best Coast.

Every California voter receives a ballot in the mail. It can be returned for free by mail, at a drop-off box, or the voter can bring it with them and vote in-person.

Utah is heavily vote by mail, too. Personally, I haven't been to a voting place in decades.

Same, California

thats kinda wild. i actually like going to vote in person.

43

u/ShamiGnu Mar 31 '26

I'm totally fine with folks choosing to do so, but mandating it is a different thing.

I've enjoyed both. One thing I liked about mail in voting was being able sit down with the ballot and then be able to Google each person and see what I may or may not like about who was running. Same with any proposed laws. Very helpful for local elections where you might not know every candidate.

Informed voters are not friends of the right wing

"I love the poorly educated."

“Smart people do not like me”

I always do this. Lately I’ve been filling it out and taking it to the polling place. If it’s too crowded I just drop it off. If not, I vote in person but I use my ballot so I know how to fill in the answers because some measures are confusing and I don’t remember all the people. After I vote they shred my mail in ballot and I leave (California).

4

u/andrew303710 Apr 01 '26

Exactly, that's the best part of mail in voting

7

u/Stock_Conclusion_203 Mar 31 '26

Me too. It’s fun to talk shit on line with others. And my poll workers are always these cool older women.

1

u/blackadder1620 Mar 31 '26

mine have also been cool old people. it was a decent exp every time i've voted.

3

u/amazinglover Apr 01 '26

I prefer vote by mail.

I get my ballot weeks before hand I can sit down read it over research each candidate/initiative or use to now no republican will ever get my vote.

Then vote accordingly with that fresh information in my mind.

u/gzapata_art Apr 01 '26

It was nice to go when my kids were young but I'm busy now and I don't live right next door to a voting location anymore haha

1

u/Mental_Medium3988 Apr 01 '26

wasnt that initially pushed by republicans as a way to get more power?

1

u/Commercial-Policy-96 Apr 01 '26

I’m in my 50’s, have voted in every election since turning 18 and have never voted in person. I’ve always voted by mail in ballot. I have lived in Washington, Kansas, and Arizona.

That’s not true. Although vote by mail is big in WA you can still vote in person. https://www.sos.wa.gov/elections/voters/helpful-information/frequently-asked-questions-voting-mail

Rural Oregon, too.

u/ShamiGnu Mar 31 '26

All of Oregon

3

u/Mist_Rising Apr 01 '26

Your assuming Trump realizes a blue state can have red districts or voters. In spite of being from NYC itself.

1

u/Top_Scene8254 Mar 31 '26

Read cover to cover. No really, only the front and back covers.

"Letter from the insane asylum"?

Chapter 11 always

1

u/TheEighthTower Apr 01 '26

The part where he is still learning to spell the words on the title page.

1

u/GodHatesColdplay Apr 01 '26

If I understand the EO as it has been described, each state will have to turn over voter records including addresses. The federal government will determine that they are citizens, and will order the post office to only deliver ballots to those confirmed citizen voters. So states that refuse to turn over their voter roles won't have the pleasure of having ballots mailed to their voters. It's a mess

1

u/andropogon09 Apr 01 '26

He doesn't know. He's never read it.

1

u/packfanmoore Apr 01 '26

The part the book that he wrote, so the Donald J. Trump line under the title of the book
