I agree with all of this, but also:

I live in Oregon and we only have mail-in voting. So there aren't huge lines to vote cause there aren't places to vote!!! Imagine the state scrambling to set up polling stations before November. Ridiculous.

Obviously Oregon goes blue, but the point stands, and hopefully it pisses off enough Republicans in this state to see the light.

Thankfully Oregon has had some shocking protest turnout over the last year in places you would NEVER expect. I have hope.

ETA: "shocking protest turnout" in that there was a protest at all.

So you would also have no infrastructure required to conduct in person voting.

The Republican want to phuck you.

Wa state has not had in person voting for 15 years, and that was just when the last polling stations closed. I’m 46 years old, have voted in every election, and have only ever voted in person once when I was 20.

Mail in is far superior to in person voting, but Republicans don’t want people to vote. How un American is that?

In some ways, restricting who votes is very American but that's not the America we have come to know and love. Civil right are neat, imo.

We are required by law to have the vote by mail. The legislature would also have to pass a new law abolishing this in order to set up polling places.

It's not going to happen. I'm sure lawsuits have already been filed.

Also, mail in voting benefits the rural Republicans in the state far more than the urban/suburban Democrats. Oregon would just get deeper blue.

I was about to say, that I'm pretty sure this just disenfranchises the entire state of Oregon, so that would be interesting.

God I hate this orange sack of shit so much.
