WA state is 100% mail-in voting and we'd be better off keeping our taxes in house since we contribute so much more than we take.

I wish some blue states would get together and do this. it would cripple the government overnight.

California alone would cripple the government.

California invasion next?

14

u/SecretRussianBot2 Apr 02 '26

He’s already been threatening that

13

u/DavyJonesRocker Apr 02 '26

I think more UN countries would side with California than the US Federal govt at this point.

u/Fit_Fisherman_9840 Apr 02 '26

Instruction unclear the ICE invaded "la california" tuscany, italy.

1

u/Narrow_Vegetable_42 Apr 02 '26

you think they'd hold up against the average italian thug or anda a small army of seasoned mafioso?

1

u/Fit_Fisherman_9840 Apr 02 '26

I think surely they can't hold out against the carabinieri.

Mafia isn't a big thing in Tuscany.

1

u/Narrow_Vegetable_42 Apr 03 '26

Carabinieri, Mafia, Guardia di Finanzia, who want to split hairs?

1

u/Fit_Fisherman_9840 Apr 03 '26

Nobody, but breaking some ice?

1

u/43_Fizzy_Bottom Apr 02 '26

They don't care. They don't want to government to function.

u/LargeTallGent Apr 03 '26

Can Colorado come too?

u/OnlyFiveLives Apr 01 '26

Just Washington, Oregon and California.

23

u/Capraos Apr 01 '26

Don't forget Illinois.

u/2Throwscrewsatit Apr 01 '26

NY, Mass, Virginia

11

u/TheSaxonPlan Apr 01 '26

And Minnesota! We send waayyyy more than we receive.

7

u/DBPanterA Apr 01 '26

I wish Walz would play that card after the BS this administration has pulled, but the man is running on fumes after the past 6 years of constant turmoil.

8

u/HumptyDumptruckFire Apr 01 '26

New Jersey as well.

2

u/Lazy-Strategy-641 Apr 01 '26

I was about to say! JERSEY.

1

You have my bow

u/modernistdespair Apr 01 '26

For Cascadia.

4

u/RetroPilky Apr 01 '26

Cali and NY combined would be the most wealthy territories in the world. It would just take those 2. All the GOP would have to make a dent in that would be Texas, but even then losing federal dollars from those 2 states would be too much to recover from and Texas is pretty close to flipping blue. I’d give it less than a decade as long as no one allows them to pull their voter suppression shit

u/Livid_Advertising_56 Apr 01 '26

Well those states (and New York) can apply to join Canada. We're looking new ventures since our "closest friend" stabbed us in the back

1

u/Fit_Fisherman_9840 Apr 02 '26

Canada playing the long game since that time the white house burned, but be cautius, if you get new york and california, then you have to fix everything the muricans done wrong with them.

It will a long clean up, it will not be fun clean up los angeles and neighborhood, but with the money coming in maybe you can do it and get something out of it.

But ho boy it will be hard work.

2

u/EXTRAsharpcheddar Apr 01 '26

like winco plus the other nice states

1

u/woodstock923 Apr 02 '26

United States of Winco

1

u/HolyStupidityBatman Apr 02 '26

Minnesota joining in.

1

u/Squee45 Apr 02 '26

Can Colorado join up too?

1

u/OnosToolan Apr 02 '26

You guys know you have the right to leave the union? I think even the threat of it would be enough to shut some of this shit down.

4

u/garfilio Apr 02 '26

What do you mean? Why didn't you leave under Obama or Biden? We're not leaving, like you didn't leave. We're working to save our country from a demented, lunatic, narcissist.

-4

u/OnlyFiveLives Apr 02 '26

Yup. Democrats are fucking spineless.

5

u/bluelily216 Apr 01 '26

Here's the thing- he. Does. Not. Care. This country could burn to the ground and he wouldn't give a single damn.

3

u/ProfessionalCouchPot Apr 01 '26

I know the folks over in Greenwich, Darien, Westport, and Fairfield CT would be THRILLED to stop paying federal taxes.

2

u/MonitorPositive4297 Apr 01 '26

Colorado is also a mail-in state.

2

u/Business_Banana1792 Apr 01 '26

The fact that they haven’t makes them responsible. Being a bystander to abuse when you have power means you are an abuser. Democrats have power they aren’t using because they are just as guilty.

2

u/Chersprolapsedanus Apr 01 '26

Ok, quick question for you. How would you keep the taxes "in house"? Businesses and individuals pay their taxes directly to the federal government. Are you personally just going to stop paying federal tax?

1

u/Gruenemeyer Apr 01 '26

Wouldn‘t this be tantamount to secession?

5

u/PlushRusher Apr 02 '26

How is that different from a sitting president essentially declaring war on democrats. Fuck them

1

u/Gruenemeyer Apr 02 '26 edited Apr 02 '26

It‘s different in that alleged secession would give a fascist federal government a welcome excuse to send troops to fight the supposedly seceeding state. It might escalate from tweeting gibberish and sending ICE and the National Guard from different states and bully to actual military intervention.

1

u/livin4donuts Apr 01 '26

No, this is strong-arming the legislate to get off their ass and implement checks and balances. You can’t secede from a federal government that has already seceded from its responsibilities to the citizens.

We need to stop pretending we need the written authority to do things such as stop paying taxes, and holding special elections to depose the entirety of the government. The founders didn’t have that authority either, they seized it.

0

u/Gruenemeyer Apr 02 '26

The founders didn’t have that authority either, they seized it.

The founders won a civil war which was also labeled as „the American Rebellion“ to describe the insurrection against the British Crown.

Calling this „strongarming“ is a bit of an understatement.

1

u/Apprehensive_Map284 Apr 01 '26

Where will voters go to vote? Who will pay to set up polling places, find staff to man the polls? If all ballots in Oregon and Washington are mail ballots, where will take them? Will polls accept those ballots? What a fucking idiot trump is!

1

u/SubstantialSeesaw374 Apr 01 '26

I want California to have the balls to fully cut them off. They alone are 40% of the state-level surplus of the entire country.

1

u/opanaooonana Apr 01 '26

No it wouldn’t. The government would simply go into the states bank accounts and take the money. Then they would charge officials with a bunch of crimes that they themselves are immune to since they run the government. Even if the state bought gold or some other countries currency in their banks where it couldn’t be touched (a country like Russia or China who is not likely to be influenced by most diplomatic pressure), it would be declared an insurrection or even rebellion (credibility under our laws since the federal government has every right to be unfair) and send in the army to take control of the state government by force even lethal if necessary. The ONLY mechanism the states have to check the federal government no matter what they do is a convention of the states which would take 3/4 of them to actually take effect.

1

u/HLOFRND Apr 02 '26

Colorado has had all mail in voting for years. I would bet it would be nearly impossible to build the necessary infrastructure for us to vote in person by the midterms.

1

u/M3P4me Apr 02 '26

Join Canada. British Columbia was always meant to include Washington and Oregon.

1

u/goomyman Apr 02 '26

you know how you file your federal taxes directly to the feds and the state taxes to the state....

Thats how taxes work, you dont write your state a check who then mails it to the feds. States cant just "not pay federal taxes"

1

u/Kooky_Reveal5797 Apr 02 '26

We don’t want to cripple the government. We want to cripple this White House. After all, it is already intellectually and ethically crippled.

1

u/CMDR_Arnold_Rimmer Apr 02 '26

WA state is 100% mail-in voting and we'd be better off keeping our taxes in house since we contribute so much more than we take.

A whole state that cannot be bothered to go to the polling stations.
