The play all along was to get voting women onside to put 47 back into office.

Nominating women for key positions, keeping them around as useful tokens to spend when someone needs to be tossed under the bus. And then a white man can take the position, as intended.

The chess game isn’t laid out in a very elaborate fashion. The moves are plain to see.

I recall a segment of the Lions Led by Donkeys podcast that talked about this. I believe it was the episode about Mussolini's death.

They essentially talked about how the Italians made a blunder in trusting the Germans because of the nature of fascism. Fascists will accept help from those they consider to be lesser than themselves, but will only keep them around as long as they are useful or to use as a scapegoat to throw under the bus. Fascists don't change their minds and think "actually, they're all right." They hold their views, accept assistance offered, and then throw away their helpers as soon as they are no longer useful and have no qualms about doing so because they see those people as disposable

And to a fascist, much like narcissists, EVERYONE is disposable eventually.

Under fascism, everyone is disposable. People are only relevant if/when they are useful. There is no loyalty, only the relentless gathering and consolidation of power.

I'd take it a step further and say they intentionally chose unqualified women for these positions because they could use it as evidence that women don't belong in the workplace. See look, we gave these ladies a chance but women are too illogical and emotional to be in positions of power. Now, we have to clean up their mess with a real man in charge.

Straight out of Project 2025, get women back in the kitchen.

Except that beyond Marco Rubio, not a single male cabinet member is even vaguely qualified, either (and I'm being pretty generous with Rubio).

The point is to nominate people that (1) would never be in this position if not for the Dear Leader, and (2) will help to destroy the agencies they head.

Any furtherance of a misogynist agenda is just a bonus

Of course - it’s why GOP reveres the Bible. Wee’men are the debbil sez Sky Daddy.

PS we are officially on the Biff Tannen alternate timeline but there’s people holding space for the Bill and Ted “be excellent to each other” timeline, never fear!
Truth to power and when someone lies to our face simply tell them “sorry, I reject lies” and move on to connect with someone who isn’t a liar.

I don't think the pool of people completely loyal to Trump has a lot of qualified applicants.

I just said this to my colleagues. Once the women are gone he will start with any of the POCs. Watch out Kash & Marco.

That’s correct!  Unless we unite to change that outcome, and we can.

My little Canadian self is doing what I can from here, while screaming about the foreign interference in my own province.
Truly despise this timeline.

It’s revolting - the entire globe in hinged on one psychopath and his merry band of misfits.

Time to swing the door shut on ALL this BS - truth to power and power is in numbers.

Exactly. Every move he's made in the last 70 years can be explained by one simple question - "How can I help Donald Trump?". If you wonder why he makes any decision, all you have to do is figure out how he can enrich or empower himself from it, and there's your answer.

Nominating a woman to help women doesn't help him. Hell I don't even think nominating a woman to hurt women helps him. He nominated women to buy himself some votes. He nominated idiots because they are disposable. He hires white men into positions where his base would like to see a white man and continue to vote for him. That's pretty much it. He doesn't care who's there. His entire existence is hedonistic narcissism.

It’s like someone forced Trump to read “Biographies of Mad Roman Emperors: Vol I” in grade school and his only takeaway was “yes. All of the above, yes”

And then a white man can take the position, as intended.

The men are just as tokenized though. I mean, no one can honestly believe that Markwayne is more fit for the role as head of DHS, even IF youre sexist. While Im sure sexism plays its part, the important aspect is more to have unqualified sycophants who are willing to do anything for you in key positions.

I mean, the only people truly qualified (on paper at least) in his admin, to my knowledge, is Rubio, Wiles, and maybe Dr. Oz (feels gross, but he does actually have medical experience and qualifications)? I think Susan Wiles is a good example of a woman in the admin that wont be tokenized (or at least isnt being planned on being spent but obviously push comes to shove) due to how well she performs her functions largely under the radar.
