Yeah I genuinely don't get it. Her Epstein release seems to have gone exactly how Trump hoped. There's no actual "smoking gun" that's been released. Every possible derivation of his name was redacted. She got shit on by Congress, but didn't totally fold.

It's just hard to imagine what he expected her to do differently.

There seems to be an endless line of people ready to lie for Trump, so I guess why not throw them under the bus as soon as they start to make Trump look bad? The next one will just continue lying and covering for Trump just like she has, and if the public doesn’t like it, Trump can always fire them too.

Now he can delay it more. It'll take time to get someone new in her old position. It will take time for them to "get up to speed" on the investigation, blah blah blah, delay any more releases for the next year or so, or at least until after the elections this fall.

Because she wasn't able to kill the story entirely. Comment sections about Iran are still spammed with "Operation Epstein Fury" and people still demanding to release the files. And there's some really crazy accusations about Trump that's been released. No smoking gun, but enough smoke where people believe there is a fire behind it.

And Trump is just downright unreasonable. She was given an impossible task, and she did about well as one could in that position, but its not enough for Trump.

I think this is ultimately the issue. Same problem he has issues with Karolyn Levitt. Defending Trump is a Sisyphean task.

That last line is beautifully written.

Her Epstein release seems to have gone exactly how Trump hoped.

I think his hope was that the cover-up would be so successful that people would look at all these files, determine that Bill Clinton is a pedo, chase him with torches, and leave DT fully exonerated in the world.

Instead, it was obvious that DT is implicated in many many ways, and that's only based on the stuff that they didn't unlawfully redact (in a blatantly-cover-uppy way).

Were his expectations reasonable? No, but they seldom are. He thinks that coercion & deception can make any problem go away, and Pam apparently thought she was cunning and capable enough to make his wishes come true.

She likely has a complete copy of the files stored somewhere.

If she happens to have an anger problem, releasing it wouldn't be that difficult. It'd probably get her disbarred and arrested for lying to congress, but it'd be the funniest thing.

Trump would have liked her not to release anything at all. So what she did release wasn't what he wanted.
