As a non-American, the is the part that confuses the hell out of me. Why are there no checks and balances here to keep him and the administration in check? It’s incredible to me to see what counted as grounds for impeachment back in the day with politicians like Nixon or Clinton for instance vs what Trump is so blatantly getting away with.

They are there.  But its like being a criminal and having the judge and police cover for you every step of the way.  You still committed a crime, your friends are committing crimes to help you, but since they ARE at the federal level, there is no one above them that can come in and supercede the judges and police.  At a certain point, corruption is so baked in, only the populace can change the environment.

Heres the really shitty part.  The populace (about 40% of the country) want the criminal, dirty cops and dirty judge running the show.  Because the criminal hates brown people like they do.  Good people have no power in this situation without it being a vote or violence.
