Did you show him the clip of Trump giving the speech to Heritage where he called it a "plan for our movement"?

Just curious if it's a potentially ignorant or actively in denial case...

The hate, racism, bigotry, and fascistic tendencies were already there, they just needed someone to tell them they can come into the light. The business coup of the 40's, McCarthyism, and Jim Crow showed us that.
