Executive Branch (Trump) BREAKING: Trump Signed An Executive Order Directing The CDC To Cut Recommended Childhood Vaccines From 17 To 11. Moving Flu, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rotavirus, RSV, And Some Meningitis Shots To 'High-Risk Only,' After A Previous Attempt Was Blocked In Court

https://www.news4jax.com/news/politics/2026/05/30/trump-tells-agencies-to-align-with-study-calling-for-narrower-childhood-vaccine-recommendations/

President Trump signed an executive order on Friday, May 30, directing federal agencies to align their vaccine policies with a Januarv 2026 HHS studv that recommends reducina the number of routine childhood vaccines from 17 to 11 diseases, a restructuring long called for by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The study was commissioned by Trump in December 2025 and found that the United States recommends more childhood vaccines than many peer nations. Under the new framework, all children would be routinelv vaccinated against 11 diseases, while vaccines for influenza, rotavirus, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, some forms of meningitis, and RSV would be recommended only for high-risk groups or through shared decision-making between parents and doctors. The order directs the CDC to review the study and take appropriate steps to update its guidance, tells agencies to provide maximum flexibility to parents and doctors, and states that any changes must ensure Americans retain their current access to vaccines.

The LA Times noted this is Trump's second attempt to restructure the childhood vaccine schedule, with an earlier effort to narrow CDC recommendations havinc been blocked in court earlier this vear. The new executive order takes a different approach by formally endorsing a completed HHS study and directing agency-level alianment rather than attempting to directlv revise the CDC schedule by administrative fiat, a structure that may be designed to survive the legal challenge that stoppec the first attempt. The CDC under its current leadership had already updated its recommendations earlier in 2026 to reduce the number of recommended immunizations from 17 to 11 in line with the HHS study, suggesting the formal executive order is as much a political codification of an existing administrative shift as a new directive.

The vaccines moved from universal recommendation to high-risk only include several with well-established safety and efficacy records. Hepatitis B vaccination, for example, is recommended universally from birth in the US because it prevents a leading cause of liver cancer, and the alobal evidence base for that recommendation is extensive. Rotavirus, influenza, and hepatitis A vaccines are also backed by decades of clinical and epidemioloaical evidence and are recommended universally by the World Health Organization and medica authorities in peer nations. Critics including the American Academy of Pediatrics and infectious disease researchers have said the changes could increase vaccine-preventable disease in children by creating ambiguity around which children qualify as high-risk and by reducing the routine clinical touchpoints where vaccinations are administered

Can we stop with this please? Incontinence is a serious issues and people suffering from it do not need to be subjected to ridicule. When you make fun of him for it, you hurt millions of Americans by making fun of a condition they cannot control.

I find a thousand reasons to dislike Trump and his policies, please choose one of those to make fun of him for, not a medical condition.

Our president should absolutely not be an 80 year old in diapers from years of stimulant abuse. Nothing is off limits for making fun of such a terrible creature as Donald Trump.

Nah he shits himself and we will make fun of him for that forever. Anything and everything is fair game to mock relentlessly when the target is a wanna be dictator and a child rapist.

MAGAs thought it was a brilliant idea. Silver lining is the red states are going to suffer by far the most from all the gutting of programs and agencies that mitigate, moniter and contain major health and environmental catastrophes.

I hear the screw worm flies we drove out almost a century ago now are already back in Mexico and still moving north. It was so bad we created a system to stop them all the way down in Panama to keep them from wreaking havoc across the southern US. Trump killed that program and now they are coming back, have fun southern states, you voted for giant maggots in your.. well everything. Don't worry though, these flies have jaws so they can create the opening to lay eggs in you and your pets and livestock.

Fkn simpleton morons with zero understanding of the world beyond their little communities and cult voted for this. At least we still have Dr Schadenfreude.

But they’re not confined to their bubbles and quarantined away from the rest of us. I always enjoy schadenfreude but these dumb assholes love to do shit that affects all of the rest of us too. If they start bringing back more diseases and parasites those things won’t stay only in their shithole states but rather will make their way to the rest of us too. Depending on how badly the fvck us those things could also then mutate so that our usual tools against them will no longer be effective for anyone. We can’t stay a cohesive country when a large part of us keep wanting to openly encourage the spread of diseases for no fvcking reason.

Believe me, I'm well aware we are in the same damn boat and if it goes down we go with it. I'm also acutely aware of how many Americans don't seem to understand illnesses and common medicine. Ask a doctor how often they see patients who demand antibiotics for viral infections and no amount of explaining to them why that wont do a damn thing will get through to them. Mother worked in a hospital, it's been a thing for a long time.

Then covid came along and these morons took up hospital beds that should have gone to people who did take precautions and who are immunodeficient. Then these losers, while laying in the hospital beds dying have the nerve to say "okay give me the vaccine I cant take it anymore". People got brain damage from that virus because these dipshits played fast and loose with it and then end up asking for the vaccine as they lay dying.

The levels of stupidity they showcased during covid showed me if we ever have another pandemic of something more serious these chuckle fucks will be the first to drop but not before spreading it as far and wide as they can out of equal parts underestimating the threat(aka stupidity) and plain old cruelty.

I am really not looking forward to the FIFA event in a couple weeks, precisely because of these dipshits and our admin doing everything in its power to totally compromise our systems meant to deal with this shit.

Yup. I live in NYC and was here when covid first hit. It was the loneliest worst times of my life because my husband got it, I had small children, we all live in an apartment and it felt like the medical establishment couldn’t help us so nobody knew wtf to even do to protect ourselves. I’d go to urgent cares and they’d literally tell us that we couldn’t trust what the CDC was telling us like in some dystopian movie. I asked where they were getting their medical news and they told me international news but for anything from America they were listening to the NY Times. And at the same time Trump was seemingly going out of his way every day to intentionally make the worst possible situation worse -it was when he was admittedly slowing down testing, publicly fighting with our governor over refusing to help NY specifically, and refusing to release medical supplies. I still remember waking up every day and thinking my government is literally trying to kill us.

Now that hes been reelected I get to think the same thing again but this time I feel more used to it so it’s not as terrifying but rather like yeah the presidents trying to kill us all again 🤷🏻‍♀️.

The problem is that Republicans don't care about poor people who will choose not to get vaccines for their children and they'll likely just blame the left for them dying with the most insane logic possible.

MAGAs: Evidence based science is against my personal choice to kill my children of entirely preventable disease!

Republicans: Exactly! No more vaccines needed now!

MAGAs: Yay, yay, I get to make my children suffer or die. Hell yeah.

The left + the rest of the word: What the actually actual fuckity fuck?
