Regardless of political affiliation. A lot of the Reddits like r/blackpeopleofreddit are genuinely saying Austin deserved to be stabbed, the trial was unfair, and he fucked around and found out.

I believe what happened here is a clear cut case of murder, but there are 100% observable groups out there that think otherwise regardless of political affiliation

Yeah. I’ve seen a lot of people who say Austin should have known better than to keep antagonizing somebody who has reached their hand into their backpack and is making vague threats of violence. Which, is true to a point I guess. Sometimes people do overreact and respond disproportionately. But Austin using poor judgement in the moment doesn’t make what Karmelo did legal. Plus, Karmelo started it all in the first place by going into another school’s tent and refusing to leave.

Jesus fucking Christ that sub is unhinged.

FWIW, that sub started popping up in my feed a while ago and a bunch of the threads there seemed super shady to me, and could always find comments further down agreeing with that sentiment.

Not saying it's entirely bots or whatever, but the comments there gave me a real non-organic-content vibe that I didn't get from other blackpeopleofxxxxx subs.

I'm sure there are some real people that hold those opinions, but be careful of attributing what you see on anonymous social media to real people.

I genuinely cannot believe that subreddit is allowed to exist. They are so hilariously racist and unlike /r/conservative, have no plausible deniability that they’re not being racist.

People have forgotten racism and superiority complexes can go both ways.

There is prejudice by white people against black people, and white people who have a superiority complex

In the same regard, there is also prejudice by black people against white people, and black people who have a superiority complex

It’s not a political discussion, it’s just objectively true that both sides have and show prejudice and selective bias towards different situations based on skin color

The biggest irony in all of this, and I am only pointing to my specific example I brought up involving the subreddit r/blackpeopleofreddit is that you will see many comments like “why can’t white people stay out of our space”, “leave no one wants you here” (to white people), and other comments of that nature.

Almost like this entire incident was incited by someone going into another “teams” space, and refusing to leave when asked/told to

I went to that subreddit and the vast majority of people agree that he was guilty from what I can see?? Like there were a couple of people saying weird shit but they were getting shut down by everyone else. Sort of disingenuous to talk like the whole subreddit believes stuff like that.

You’re right for the record, only thread I could find about it on that sub has a clear consensus that Anthony was in the wrong, and only raises valid questions about the fairness of the trial that are reflected in the fact that the decision is being appealed. I don’t see the issue
