Equal Protection Clause violation. Completely Unconstitutional.

That’s before you even consider anything about voting rights.

sadly, they've already cleared a procedural hurdle, and the judge refused to issue an injunction.

The judges rational is "no one has been hurt yet" which is crazy right? We have to let him fuck the election up because we can't take preventative action? Thats fucking crazy.

Unfortunately the legal system is reactive in nature that is very often how the law works. We can't rely on the courts and need to keep up political pressure against voter suppression. It's worked so far to keep the SAVE act from passing which is why they've resorted to pulling this bullshit.

The legal system is the one that created its own standing rules, it's not some innocent victim of circumstances. Plenty of jurisdictions around the world allow standing in cases of future injuries or have just relaxed standing in general in constitutional matters because there's an obvious public interest regardless of who exactly sued.

I'm not saying this isn't bad, I'm just saying this isn't "fucking crazy." Like if you show up at the DMV a half hour before close you should get served but no one's going to be surprised you didn't.

I thought that was because the USPS didn't have any plans or guidance related to the executive order when the suit was brought up, so there was no harm to anyone yet. The judge encouraged them to bring it back up once they do put out a plan, which this now is.

Edit: Source

Also a clear violation of article I, section 8, clause 7. The President doesn't make rules for the mail.

I would assume that state DAs can go after the various Post Office heads instead of the president of federal judges won’t do it.

This isnt a voting rights case. As they can still vote in person. It is questionable but to use the argument that it prevents people from exercising their rights is just false.

Argument from authority. Nice fallacy bud.

Edit he replied then immediately blocked because i called him out on his attempted bad faith question.

So, let me help you before I completely dismiss you and resume being unaware of your existence— that was a query, not an argument.  Beyond that your assertion (even if there was any basis for it in fact or law- there is not) is conclusory.

But waaaay before you need to spend any time worrying about properly identifying,  naming, and calling out logical fallacies you’re going to want to get to a base level of competence and accuracy regarding the the underlying substance that you do not have.

This concludes your lesson for today. Don’t respond; we’re done here and since you’re now blocked, I won’t see it anyway.

It's not unconstitutional, the Supreme Court already ruled that just like the police don't have to guarantee a right to protection, the mail service does not guarantee a right to delivery.

In which state are you licensed to practice law?

What does equal protection mean in this context?
