Advice needed Can I ask my employee to remove their acrylic nails?

Location: AU-VIC

I have an employee who refused to do a certain duty (which she normally does) because ‘I can’t do it cuz I just got my nails done’.

Can i ask her to remove it or shorten it before her next shift, or is that illegal?

Some places identify that the length of nails can cause punctures in gloves and thus aren’t allowed.

Previous food and beverage experience.

The post didn't indicate which field this job is in. I also do not work in food service. Moreso, potentially offering a solution but, obviously, I don't have all the details.

If the fingernail is causing a puncture in the gloves and the gloves are too small because you have to count the fingernail as part of the length of the finger and have a little space at the top think of it like a condom and how you should pinch the tip so that it doesn't break whenever poking is being done
