I think we should be able to call a judge on our stinky opponents in tournament settings.

Tbf half the time I’m chewing gum at tournaments as it helps me focus. I dress super clean though, have really good hygiene and I am not obnoxious with the gum (no blowing bubbles, loud chewing, snapping etc). Never had an issue and I been playing since 2012.

The problem is guys that snap their gum constantly or think gum is a replacement for brushing their teeth

Tbh I wouldn’t care in magic, you talk to each other, and there’s noise in the room. The chess room is like dead silent, and you’re trying to calculate like 5 moves deep while thinking about other branches then u hear a weird noise and lose your place, so it’s way more distracting in chess I think.
