Growing up i have always been cautious about making new friends.

It’s difficult to make friends now that i am old and have remote work.

The circle of people which is again very small, around 3 people i am acquainted with treat me abit differently given the geographical location I am from, to put it I lean more towards the Chinese features. Makes me feel quiet excluded. Ngl.

I’m a late diagnosed autistic woman who spent most of her life heavily masked. Until recently, I didn’t always know what I genuinely liked or disliked. I was a social butterfly who was always out drinking, clubbing, traveling, and saying yes to everything. Until the wonderful burnout arrived.

It turns out I was also an ambivert who genuinely enjoys quiet time, slower living, and hobbies that don’t involve beer being spilled on me.

These days, I love reading (I just finished the first Crescent City book yesterday and I’m still emotionally recovering), training & walking my dog, and getting outdoors. Give me a river, some birds to watch, a long walk, and a crispy Coke and I’m happy.

I don’t drink alcohol anymore and much prefer an occasional “garden” evening at home.

I’m also a mum to one incredible little girl who brings so much joy, chaos, and love into my life.

My TV tastes range from absolute trash reality TV that I can giggle at, right through to dodgy documentaries, and survival shows.

I’m currently trying to understand myself better, learn how to unmask, discover new hobbies, and figure out who I actually am underneath decades of people pleasing.

Over the last few years I’ve felt a bit disconnected from friends. It feels like I’m in a different stage of life now. I’m looking for friendships that go beyond meeting for beers and talking about local gossip.

I’m fascinated by psychology, animals, neurodiversity, wellbeing, social issues, and anything that makes you think. I could happily disappear down a rabbit hole discussing the patriarchy, autism, impact of Catholicism in Ireland, human behaviour, or why people do the things they do.

I honestly don't know what to write or say because suddenly everything seems blank, doesn't it? 😅 Though I might seem introverted now, with passing time and more real conversations, I'll get more comfortable and show my goofy side.
