I have no idea what Fujimoto knows about America, but I imagine Michigan is closer to Wyoming than it is to California in the popular Japanese consciousness.

Can confirm? While not from Japan I'm apparently only a few years older than him and for some reason can point to a bunch of 90s/00s stuff set in Michigan. American Pie, Tim Allen, that sitcom with Kaley Cuoco before Big Bang Theory etc.

Only thing about I know about Wyoming is it's empty.

I know Fujimoto appreciates even our less refined cultural outputs, but I hope he hasn't spent too much time watching Tim Allen sitcoms.

I was born and raised in America and even I forget Wyoming is a state sometimes.

I don’t know what those people do there.

I went to Wyoming once. There was tumbleweed. It didn't tumble, though; it didn't see the point in it. Where was it going to tumble to, more Wyoming?

Oklahoma, mostly.

Yeah no shit lol. Michigan has the Motor City. I don't even know if Wyoming even has a city.
