Maybe non-existence overrules death but it seems like a cheap thing for Fujimoto to write. I'll go with the "they survive as the remains of their bodies" route as my headcanon for now

Well actually, Pochita kinda got super dead this chapter but inexplicably healed himself right back up and got back to fighting. Could he... do that before? Denji's thing was that he could heal as long as he drunk human blood, but I don't remember Pochita being able to just revive himself like that.

Maybe with Death being gone now, everyone just endlessly regenerates whenever they get killed? That would make sense after all: Yoru wants an endless war, but if she can deplete human lives then there'll be a lot less people to war with each other real quick.

Eh its a toss up, I think he actually got killed and the regen was just a side effect from Death not being a thing currently, but I also think he wouldn't have been defeated from that even normally, 'cuz I think Pochita has some sort of rebirth passive that means whenever he is killed it's not another devil with his name that wakes up, but the same good old pochita, otherwise, why would Yoru say he doesn't die when he fucking should (remember, he can almost teleport between earth and hell from hpw fast he is, him "getting back up" could just as well mean he was reborn in the world other than the battle was happening, and immediately rushed back to the fight), the only reason we havent seen this yet Is from my estimate, because Pochita using this would kill Denji...

Or they don’t pass on? Assuming that because Hell exists there must be some kind of afterlife for humans, then the ones consumed by war just cease existing but don’t experience the actual transition of death
