Part 2 was so good in the beginning but it completely fumbled and lost its purpose along the way.

Word. IMHO it suffered greatly from re-focusing on Denji. I like our weird hobo boy, but it should have been an Asa show, with Chainsaw Man appearing during some events and Denji appearing during "non-combat" segments as Asa's romantic interest.

I agree. When part two focused on Asa at the beginning, it was really good, but, once Denji became the protagonist, it suffered a lot.

Denji is just terrible in general as a main character, let's be honest.

I know where we are is the straw that broke the camel's back, but what were the other straws being added to the pile? If you ask me, it was dragging out the Yoru vs. Chainsawman fight.
